He already has feelings for her. He may not label it as pyar but he has placed her in a different pedestal than the other women he had in the past. That is why he badly wants Katha to be different. His monologues and even their lines when he tells her to leave if she wants..etc..
Actually, in the original, they never showed so many monologues and the kashmakash of Onur. There was no dialogue when Sheherzad enters the room. But here for Indian viewers, have shown the inner conflict of Katha and Viaan. It seems bit odd because the makers should have shown a tad bit of feelings of Viaan towards Katha before. But they did not. We have to wait for future episodes to see what Viaan thought of Katha. In the original Onur tells her that he had fallen in love with her at first sight. However, I did not get any such vibe from Viaan initially. Hence, Viaan's monologues seem a little out of place.
But everything aside, Aditi and Adnan played the scene so well. The BG score was so apt. The script was nice. Overall, too good by ITV standards.
