I don't think the writers have the guts to show this, but it could be a flaw in her that is well addressed and portrayed in the story, that for all her bragging about being a mother, she's missing out on fundamentals in raising children and perhaps some of these things were always there when she raised those brats too (though no one will admit it lest it taint her image of being a perfect wife and mother). Cooking for and feeding your child isn't exactly what makes you a mom. CA doesn't need chocolate milkshake from her, she needs attention and genuine affection.
