Why does Malhar wants to marry pratiksha ?

I haven't been watching the show But I did catch snippets and it looks like Malhar doesn't like or even want to tolerate prateeksha then why is he so hell-bent on marrying her ?

From what I understand; her uncle is a police officer, and he doesn't have any heirs of his own. His wife wants Kritika's character to marry her nephew, Malhar, so that the ancestral/Kritika's character's paternal property remains in the family. Malhar is a useless but cunning fellow who wants to become a cop, so he wants suck up to Kritika's uncle.

Does he know ki cop banne ke liye he has to pass the civil services exam and an existing cop even in highest post won't be able to help him with that ? 🤣
