IMO, it is Advait's misconception that he feels he is the dominant figure in Nehavit's relationship. In reality, Nehmat is the one who calls the shots. Advait may make an effort to assert his dominance, but Nehmat always subdues him, just as she did at their first encounter or the Shaadi choice, over which Advait has no control.
