HYPOCRISY ????😲 I am genuinely confused, girls after watching Epi 6 and 7. OK, hear me out.......

Episode 6 served the purpose of establishing Katha to be a loyal employee. Let us put the subject related to loyalty aside for a bit. Sahi hain, IF she were a real employee. But, the company is dangling her by a thread, on one hand they call her a "lead architect" and on the other she is a " temp or an employee on probation"👎🏼 Is the company trying to cheat her out of giving her benefits of a permanent employee? Such as loan, medical insurance, pension etc.? Meaning, you are supposed to give it all, but the company won't even extend the courtesy of giving you some stability in your life and will dangle the sword of " temp employee" on your head? Chalo, let us say that they have given a freelancer architect a job......

What about Katha? What is this loyalty about? I mean, I am not saying she needs to sell her plans to the rival company, but why didn't she negotiate anything else with the rival boss? If that guy felt she had worthy work within her, then surely he would have negotiated. The guy didn't appear as much as a sleaze ball. He even gave great advice to Katha- if you don't prioritize herself, no one else will👍🏼. I can tell with experience, however much we feel that our loyalty counts in a big way somewhere, somehow, Covid pandemic opened my eyes in more ways than one- no one is indispensable. We might feel good, warm, fuzzies, but for big corporations, EVERY employee is dispensable We have seen devastation all around us, in ways that I wouldn't have believed if somebody predicted this and told me about it. I am not saying she should sabotage her conscience, but somehow this loyalty for a company who wouldn't even consider her their employee haq se and have left their door open to kick her out at their will is not jiving with me😒

What kind of stupid policy is that employees have to be single to work in Viaan's firm. Of course, his firm and his idiosyncrasies🤡. But still, who in this era has policies such as this? That too in a metropolis. With this stupid policy, will they forgo talented employees such as Katha because she has responsibilities? I mean, yeh single hona kya hota hain? Should they just not be married or not in a relationship with a partner, or bilkul single as in have no other dependent members in the family/house such as children, parents or siblings? Should the employee bilkul akele in this world, so they can give it all to the company and the company can dangle them by a thread? 😡

Is Katha too naïve to give that lecture to her son about cheating? But, she is also cheating her company and Jeetu sir that she is " single" whatever that means. I guess that is open to interpretation. It is kind of stupid, annoying and insulting when Rewa says to Katha that they had to lie about her family status to get the job. Yeh plot kahaan se laaye bhai? 1970s movies? If Katha is so talented that big companies are ready to bribe her, why does she have to lie for temporary work?

Vamp and vampette seem to be Adi's bhabhi and brother. Suddenly, she wants her child to be the only pota. Hmmmphhhh.........😡 Can we be spared from this please? Is this only to cut off all ties between Katha and her support system from her MIL, even if it is just an emotional support?

OK, finally, if it is between selling her architectural designs vs spending the night in exchange for money, it will come down to which one is the lesser evil. I guess, it it any design, it will be a no-brainer. But, if it is that "particular design" which she is working on for Viaan's company, then of course, it is a hard choice. I guess, this is what they are going to go after, and will make this Pyramid company CEO a sleaze-ball. Then the choice will be between, who is the better sleaze-ball( I am not calling Viaan a sleaze-ball, but if I were Katha, both of them would be sleazy ).

Not to hurt any sentiments........ I am loving this splitting of "moral" hairs😃. Fire away, girls........

That is it from me. Tagging some........

Word! This is exactly what I feel about Katha. I am really not able to buy this excuse that she has exhausted all the options of arranging money. She missed a good opportunity when the rival company gave her the offer.. Tomorrow most probably she is going to remove her video from the crowdfunding site and lose another opportunity. Why? Just because she doesn't want to lose the job. I mean..Is it really the priority now when you literally have 3-4 days to go for the operation. Also what are the odds that Viaan will actually come across the video from a random crowdfunding site??

And as you said, her lecture about cheating and loyalty didn't sit well with me..Lying that you are single is also a sort of cheating.

Mili, I am lagging behind by one ep. Totally love your analysis as always as it gives me another perspective and makes me go back over things which I have overlooked or did not take seriously. I also don't understand why she had to lie about her status. We live in an age where companies are trying to fit work around our lives, and here we are projecting a wrong image which does not align with the modern day work organisation/structure .

I understand that liberties are taken as it is a show but they simply end up showing the protagonist as helpless and a victim of circumstances. Life doesn't work like this. Those who really want to achieve something usually end up finding a way. This is where I feel that shows fail. They show people as weak instead of inspiring them to be more. Katha could have contacted the doctors and appealed to their generosity. She could have contacted people who could help her organise the collection of donations. She could have gone online and posted her story. Heck she could have simply been upfront with her current company and sought out their help.

One thing which has always bothered me about Indian shows is that they mostly project their characters as weak, helpless or victims of circumstances. If I compare to American shows, the characters there always bounce back. The message is simple: fall, hit rock bottom but get up and go on. I don't know about the original show but I have been reading about the ONS. This doesn't sit well with me, and I hope that they adapt the story a bit. Probably such situations do happen in real life but please show the FL as strong, and as someone who has a solution and knows how to tackle these situations. We need solution-oriented characters.

I AGREE.

Somehow it feels like Katha is not desperate enough. Like if it was my kids life and needed money. No matter what shady or bad things I had to do. I would do it. But, Katha seems so unrealistic on this aspect.

As for Viaan I am still confused as to why he would give her ONS condition to give the money. Like it doesn’t seem like he is attracted to her at the moment unlike the original. I can’t seem to understand the logic.

mili -- please check out the daily discussion thread as well as the poll thread; folks have shared different perspectives on the same.

as for myself, I am on the fence. I don't know how architecture works in India and so my first question is "whether katha's designs belong to katha or the company?"

I remember this wedding dress designer who had videos on youtube. her name was haylee or something like that? then it seems there was dispute between her and the company and now she can't even use her own name because it was trademarked. I was like "what? how can a company steal your name?". I did read some articles but I didn't understood the US laws where a judge would rule in the company's favour. it seemed ridiculous to me that she had to change her own name that her parents gave.

coming back to this drama, if the designs belong to the company, then it would be termed stealing and therefore punishable by law. if the designs belong to katha, then she is free to move. some suggested that she could modify her designs but not sure if that is allowed. since I don't know, I am just going along with the flow of the story. my sense is that rather than idealistic or hypocrisy, she might be just spooked. if she got the money by cheating, then it would harm aarav and bring her also further trouble.

as for her marital status, we had a bit of chatter on the DT. you can check that out.

as someone whose first job was a temp employee, I can share that you are not eligible for benefits. I was working for a large IT company and they would cut my salary (which was miniscule) for being late -- the company bus would get stuck in traffic and yet, employees would be fined for not swiping in at exact 8.30. so even if we landed there a couple of minutes late (which we had no control over and neither did the company bus driver), then they would still cut a half day's pay. absolutely ridiculous and so we wouldn't swipe in. still, every month they would routinely mark us late for a few days.

there are some large companies who cheat the system by keeping a good chunk of the employees on contracts and pay less. unfortunately, due to competition, people go along with it even though. praying that we kind of the labour reform and union type laws that is available in some EU countries. we really need quality of life for all workers!

as of now, am just going along with the flow of the story and my illogic meter isn't pinging as much. am too busy admiring the sets. off to do a little post on that.😆

Whatever you have written is absolutely right.Ther are other options & i genuinely seen this crowfunding raising huge amount in just few days. Also if you aproach social media some big people readily donates. Its not th issue. At present it seems that she is giving more importance to job rather than her son.It is more so because the company for which she is so loyal does not take employees who has family or children.Anyways some management do want staff like that & as she is architect & involves outdoor work, company wants this. But Katha should have tried crowdfunding rather than thinking about job as she is desperate. However i do think as the show is a remake , & original has this background they need to show that. Also Viaan asking ONS just like that doesnt look convincing .They havent shown him like that & also no attraction unlike the original show .In the original the hero was little different .Anyways i am watching the show as of now for its different treatment & fast pace.Lets see how they move further. But yes the desperartion is surely not that convincing.

Bigger sleaze ball 🤣

But it's also ITV soo the "hero" is forgiven for being the sleaze ball because he's traumatized and doesn't trust women 😬🙄

Not justifying the lie but the situations are completely different, certain companies do have policies of preferring single employees ,they should not but they have.

Obviously they have a mindset that married or woman having kids would object to do needful work (travelling etc )

She lied there bcoz she felt she will manage somehow and won't let them complain in those situations.

But sharing info with competition is obv disloyalty .I agree it's obv better than ONS but she was not aware of the situation then
