When I came across KA promos felt they were intriguing & pairing seemed odd, but Sony promoted it upfront as remake of Turkish Drama 1001 nights, which was globally popular, dubbed & remade into many languages, which I haven't btw watched so far.

So after reading high level story synopsis of Turkish drama was skeptical how hindi TV folks can ruin it in televised daily serial adaption,smiley6 as its quite urbane setup, based on dark concept of two varying strong working professionals forced into an indecent proposal against work place ethics, that would potentially turn leads lives up side down in personal lives.

I'm hopeful there is a fixed story to tell, and its based more on human emotions & relationships, work place discomforts and there isn't much scope for regular crime plots or vamp turning into evil psycho here.😳 Wish atleast initial 50-60 episodes channel/makers/writers let this story breathe naturally, allow characters to grow organically, than screwing up with some cringe masala dramas, lazy cut n paste predictable twists, forced romances, kitchen politics & ott crimes.

First week episodes could have shown some more happier/lively/positive scenes of both leads & kid whether current or flashback, as there is so much sadness surrounding every episode for a new serial, within its launch week, and 8.30 pm is quite competitive time slot for hindi GECs.smiley14 (btw kid used in Turkish drama seems much younger & innocent than in KA.)

Now some off sync items. When last five years Katha has been working hard raising alone a sick kid without both sides families support, doing multiple jobs to save Rs.40 lakhs to arrange for her son's blood cancer treatment, suddenly regular doc saying her son's bone marrow surgery in Mumbai needs such high Rs 1.49 crores to get some Newyork specialists that too within a week, isn't much convincing.smiley24 Bone marrow & blood cancer have been overly used in Indian films/dramas for many years be it on kids or adults, also many common people in India are grossly exposed due to families/friends/relatives/neighbours/colleagues going thru similar health woes & average costs involved.

Writers could have made this high amount more relatable to viewers by highlighting about rare blood group, donor needing money or some other medical complication which only some particular surgeon who has done recent research in US can handle, for which costs have become high.😒 They missed sensitizing viewers on a core item.

Feel writers may later show Vivaan's late father or his mistress has some link to Katha's husband's accident or her FIL, to spice up drama.

(sorry to cut post but just wanted to respond to above points):

just as info -- turkish dizi episodes are at least an hour or half and sometimes a little over two hours!!!! I have been trying to figure out why on earth they are so long and how people can watch something like that at one stretch and how ads come into play. but I am still not sure how that works.

anyway, that is how the dizis are and they air once a week. each season can be 20 to 30 episodes. depending on the ratings, they will get extended for another season or they wrap up. sometimes, if ratings are really bad, they may get cut without even getting a full season. there are dizis with no ending with just 10eps. if they get another season, then there is a summer or winter break in between where the actors and team rest and then they start shooting again and it is aired. so that is how it is structured.

I only saw the fanedit version of this dizi. they used to be half hour episodes and just had shortened main lead scenes and relevant arcs. now obviously if you have to fill in 2 hours, you will have side characters with their own arcs, lots of fillers as well as kitchen politics. since this is an official adaption, they pretty much have everything they need to do a couple of hundred episodes. so, we should expect fillers, random arcs like unexpected mistress popping up. I am not sure how those will be as against the original.

this dizi was a pure melo and so dizis in this genre tend to be over the top melodramatic. even ITV dramatics will be defeated by the intensity in some of those dizis. there can be splotches of humour and that happens in the interactions between the characters but that generally happens once the dizi settles into its rhythm. otherwise, the initial episodes are all about sucking in the audience and can be very intense. when I say intense, I mean high high voltage drama.

that also reflects in the background music as well. many of them have individual composers who create a whole range of instrumental music tracks (up to 20). they are about two minutes and they add to the mood and give different feels during scenes without dialogues and just scenery. to give you an idea of dramatics, am sharing a background music from a dizi I enjoyed.

just hearing it gives me pangs though it is so beautifully composed.

since this it is official adaption, we should expect more dramatics spicing up the conflicts.

I think no one knows Katha has a kid as Elson said she's single and has no responsibility... So probably vihaan will think Katha is a gold digger... And sold design to rival for money

Lovely episode!

If I were Katha, I would reject the offer from the rival company and ask Viaan if he can match the offer. I think it should go this way, but how does the one night stand sneak its way? This show isn't easy to predict & I like that 😃

This is my first show of Aditi (although I've watched clips of her as Mauli) & I'm bowled over already! Gloomy scenes can get repulsive with poor acting, but she makes me want the writers to write more emotionally draining stuff 😆

Like @milli mentioned, the story hasn't provided enough to like the ML. His writing seems hollow as of now, I hope there's more to his rigid thoughts & pain, which hasn't healed with time. I chuckled at the dialogue "it's a blessing to feel pain as you don't become a reason for someone else's" ; we all know how the matters will proceed 😆

@ bold.....Woah! What a zinger, Queen ji🤣🤣 I didn't look at it this way. But, yeah, for all the declaration of his pain and suffering, we shall see when he becomes the crux of her pain/humiliation🤣 Nice observation, my friend. Mazaa aagayi when I read this. Thanks for the laughs early AM😃

watched yesterday's episode and all I can think is: no one is mentioning those cute puppies? 😘😄

seriously, how adorable were they?

so I thought viaan's performance and emotions while laying out the hurt was strong scene. it would be rather annoying at the very least to resemble strongly a person you dislike. when I was a teenager, I used to be told often at weddings that I resemble my aunt and I couldn't stand her. 😆

also, we are used to seeing this kind of arc in so many dramas -- the father leaving the family for another woman -- but that does not mean some hurts can mean less just because you are now an adult. it all depends on the people and how they have processed those hurts and what they have taken away from those bitter experiences. however, I was totally distracted by the puppies. same with katha tellling her story to her friend about how adi died while going to fight with FIL and how she was accused of being golddigger. sad scene but all I was thinking -- "where is the puppy?" 😆

sorry, both ML and FL were upstaged by our furry friends. 😂

Haha, I'm glad it made you laugh😃 You can call me Rach!

Reminds me of the line in the promo, "doosre ko parakhne mein khudka wajood kho diya". The universe tests everyone with its dark humour & it's gonna be intriguing to watch how he deals with his share of the same.
