He failed in previous episode where it came as he was seeing some apsara. Moment was him just pleasantly recalling that dress n change in P. He overdid it with his pathetic body language and worst part that woman had despised his daughter. Problem is that all is messed up between Sai-Virat and there is nothing between VP which can be called as pati-patni wala thing. That's the point naa that now everything related to past except Savi has been wiped away like P wiping their names from the cake. Sai's last line reference was that savi is the symbol of her love as you said it.

Yes...I agree that was the actor's failure..The surprised expression was overdone and the anger on Sai is understandable but it's more coming as disgust
