You can also see it when they contrast it with Gaumbi-Dhara's relationship and Dev-Rishita's relationship. I expected GauRa's relationGship to take a hit because Dhara lied to Gaumbi's face repeatedly but he has incredible trust on her. He has accepted that she will do kands and hide them but also knows her intentions are never wrong. Plus she is getting so much anger from both Suman and Shiva so at least he is not adding to it. He also knows Raavi is not lying so he knows they will prove their innocence. This is the strength of their relationship. Dev and Rishita have more issues between them have established trust. Rishita is a very muffat girl, she speaks her mind no matter what. If she's angry, the whole family will know, if she's upset-she throws tantrums, if there is something she wants- she will voice it out. She won't hide and submerge her feelings. She definitely needs to learn tact and manners-behave more maturely too but I still like her character. Dev gets annoyed by her actions but he is her perfect foil because he does not suppress her. He reprimands her, scolds her gently, tries to teach her but accepts and loves her for who she is. Actually Rishita has made the whole family do that- she is not going to change herself for others. Raavi-Shiva- does Shiva like Raavi? I say like because it's important to like your partner. You may love them, like you love your families, but you can only stay with someone if you genuinely like them and can be best friends. I see no respect or appreciation from him for her. Is he not proud of her? Gaumbi has a certain amount of reverence for Dhara because she sacrificed a lot including her chance to be a mother for his family. She also struggled for the business. He's emotionally dependent on her like his family is. Same Dev has a certain amount of respect for Rishita because she left her luxuries and family for him. Is adjusting in his family for him. Now they share a daughter, so he is even more enamoured of her. But Shiva hates Raavi's natal family and background. Of course he is justified- but that essentially leaves her as an orphan. Shiva is so full of an anger and hate for people who wronged his family and for people in general while Raavi is so bubbly and sweet- how are they supposed to a perfect match. Shiva's general attitude in life is so bad-he needs help. He needs anger management lessons, he is a naturally pessimistic person who is so sensitive that all he perceives is negativity. Forget Raavi- no one can stay with such a person. The angry young man trope doesn't work anymore! If you see, for months Raavi has been so unhappy and stressed. Now days people prioritize their mental health- didn't Rishita do so when she went through postpartum depression and went to a therapist that is also been used by Dhara? So why not Shiva? Shiva's issues stem from his anger and insecurity and he needs psychological help. He uses anger to justify his insecurity- when he realized that he and Raavi are an unequal match. Frankly Shiva is unequal to everyone in his family. If he liked studying- then why gave it up? School is not just for academics- it opens one mind when you learn to get long with peers. He didn't live his childhood even when presented with the opportunity given and you can constantly see that in him. Most girls want to change their guys- buying them clothes, dressing them in a certain way- but this will be anathema to Shiva. If he is ashamed of his general demeanor, his dressing sense, thinks he is not equal to guys like Arnav- then do stuff that gives you confidence. He is not confident in his own skin- it's so obvious. You have to maintain yourself and present yourself well- that will give you the necessary confidence. They could have done a good track- Shiva learning social media to get closer to Raavi and using it to market his business instead of him resenting it for taking her attention.
Compare it with Dev's confidence- Dev is from the same family and similar age, right? Dev never felt he is not worthy to be Rishita's husband. He knows he is good looking and educated. He's not rich, but he doesn't lack any qualities. Rishita is madly in love with him- that gives him even more confidence. Raavi is also madly in love with Shiva. He should be proud that a girl like her loves him-cherish her and be worthy of her. But he doesn't. Because you can't love someone unless you love yourself. And Shiva does not love himself. He has false ego-no pride in himself.
