I actually find it odd that they keep calling him and Salman 'Sir'.

Why?

As a westerner we used to call our teachers Sir/Miss years ago but now Kids call their teachers by their first name. We do not call anyone Sir or Madam - not our boss, teachers, someone with more experience or whatever...not even a titled person because they normally go by their normal names and only use titles for official purpose.

When you call someone by a title like Sir/Madam, you are elevating them above you which is so wrong. It is elitist and classist.

Everyone should be equal. Yes a certain respect is shown if you are with someone who has more experience than you but not to the extent you call them Sir!
