Yeah... that maybe correct... I havent watched much of the earlier family drama soaps though am aware of many... I used to watch mostly the sitcoms... where if you miss an episode here and there it doesnt matter...

This yaar.. the leads had a story of their own. Good progression and proper love story atleast till confession. No doubt there was negativity, bakwaas , ott drama but even now, the journey of first few months of love story still have rewatch value.

So true! I actually end up going and watching the earlier shows on Hotstar because there is just something innocent about seeing the journey of the two people slowly and steadily from friendship to love to marriage to then fighting all the villains together. Even if there was mistrust, there was some reasoning to it, aaj kal jaise just for the sake of it dushmani nahi thi 😆

And then they shut shop for shows that are actually meaningful before 100 episodes if they dont resort to doing drama for trps. Everest and POW deserved so much better from SP.

My mom used to watch serials, so we used to all watch it during dinner 😆

Sitcoms I watched when I was in college: Bones, Castle, Lie To Me, White Collar, Boston Legal...that genre..

But yes, the earlier shows were miles ahead of the ones telecasted today. You will find some 'woke' scenes in the shows of this decade, but there is very less plot and actual significance to the characters who support the protagonists too. Like for instance, if we talk about Shararat, we need Pam, Shanti Aunty, Meeta, Radha and Nani equally to be there for Jiya to be able to use her magic properly, but if it was made today, Jiya would have been a self-important pari who used her magic only for her own whims and fancies 😆

Shararat I have watched quite a bit... these were the type of shows I watched... though I dont remember in detail but I know the 3 gen paris.... Farida Jalal is one of my favs... Dekh bhai dekh was another one... this might hv been bfr your time 😆 ....

This is what he does. I would say aisa hai then keep the quality finish the show in 100 episodes. no one would mind if it is definite series not even big channels kyuki without trp they also shut the show. So why not do 100- maximum 150 that’s almost 5-6 months
