Very true girl. Ayesha has not confessed her love for Basit yet. Perhaps it is shyness that has held her back. And this is why I feel Basit is also teasingly trying to get her to more vocally express her love for him. As for the reassurance, isn't it something all people in love need? But specifically if we are to think of Basit's past and the way it has affected his personality, I think he needs that assurance because somewhere within he has been starved of affection. Even with Fahad it has been shown how he is often quite demanding and almost clingy in terms of his demand on Fahad's time and attention. With Ayesha that would be tenfold. His closeness to Soha is possibly because he had been abandoned by Fahad as well as Ayesha at that time. While claiming he doesn't need human warmth and companionship, Basit actually craves it. Till his dad was alive, he had thought he needed no one because his dad was such a source of love and support in his life. With time, as he got used to Ayesha in his life, fell in love with her and his mother's death, Basit has in some ways realised he needs that show of affection. His anger at Ayesha possibly had made him think he was fine alone, but we saw that he really wasn't. At the hospital, there are only two times that he voices protest at Ayesha caring for him, when she is trying to adjust the bed and when she feeds him for the first time. But even there he was moved by how she was there beside him at any point he regained consciousness. And now that he has her back, I think he wants Ayesha to be as openly loving as she can be towards him. He is thriving in her love and the love he feels for her.
Beautifully analysed as always Twerps! Missed you on the forum 🤗
You are absolutely right when you say that Basit craves love and warmth from the people in his life. I think Ayesha is shy and generally has difficulties voicing her true feelings especially in front of Basit. She tends to keep a lot bottled up. I don’t know if Basit realises this or not. Do you think that Ayesha is till hesitant or scared in some corner of her heart or is she absolutely convinced about her place in Basit’s life? I believe that at this point Basit seems very sure of himself and their relationship except for the part where he complains of Ayesha not missing him. I think more than reassurance he needs that articulation and open show of love from Ayesha. Basit as we will see in the next episode has become quite demonstrative of his feelings towards his wife and would expect the same (not in material pleasures but otherwise).
Completely agree with you that for Soha, he relied on her for a brief period during the time he felt abandoned by both Fahad and Ayesha, his strongest support systems. Now that Ayesha is back, we see that he’s trying to draw some boundaries vis-a-vis Soha like how he cuts her call initially but then picks, almost discourages her talking about Ayesha and her family, gets her to talk about business and then clearly tells her that he’s not free at the moment and to meet him in the office. However, he hasn’t yet realised that Soha unlike both Ayesha and Fahad doesn’t have his best interest at heart.
This brings me to my next question- do you think Basit and Ayesha have consummated their marriage or at least made out?
Another thing, Basit tells Ayesha that I’ve been in love with you since a while however, never found the right moment to voice it. When do you think this happened? I remember after that whole raised hand incident when Ayesha came to the guest room, Basit came to inquire as to why she wasn’t there in the room with him, he wanted her back but couldn’t say it, so taunted her instead that I’m not going to keep coming to call you to the bedroom. Another moment that I can think of is during Basit’s birthday when he gets to know from Fahad that Ayesha planned his surprise party and the smile that Basit gave to Ayesha, he also insisted that she cut the cake with him despite her resistance. I think it was somewhere around this time.
