When Ayesha told him that he must have complimented the girl he came to the party with, and he turns towards Soha as if for the first time considering whether she deserved to be called "haseen"...
Or is it him suddenly realising that his wife is not liking the fact that he came with someone else, which might be why he brings up the point that he had tried calling her so that they could come together...

Two of the most meaningful scenes in my opinion. First, Ayesha having said way too much out of frustration and anger at a moment in which Basit was in his most vulnerable state and then realizing that her words had hurt him even more whereas Basit having reached a point where he literally can't leave without Ayesha's presence and regrets everything he had said and done so far...

I think it's the second one... He actually enjoys his wifey being jealous of him 😂

So true...the way they both react to watching the other break down is just so beautiful. ❤️ Ayesha's resentment and Basit's ego melt in a flash.

Yess...I do think he sort of enjoyed the feel of watching Ayesha being jealous. Which is why he came across as so flirtatious despite the sword of Damocles hanging over his head.

I think so too. Remember how Basit asked Ayesha whether she’s insecure due to Soha? There was this twinkle in his eye. He’s enjoying her feeling jealous over him. I think he would’ve liked it more had she shown some signs of possessiveness such as grabbing his hand. That would’ve been a real treat for him 😉
However, for Ayesha to see her husband enter his best friend’s wedding with another woman at a time when she’s doubting her place in his is indeed very painful.
There were a few scenes which disturbed me. First is why does Basit let Ayesha go home alone at night dressed the way she was? He should have insisted very firmly even if she refused. How does clicking pictures with Soha and co become more important than ensuring your wife’s safety as well reassuring her of your feelings?
The second scene that troubled me was Basit allowing Soha to comment on Ayesha previously being his employee, her social and financial status, the state of his marriage and if Ayesha had the ability to adapt to his lifestyle? Why would you let an outsider (even if you call her your friend) you met two days ago comment on your wife and marriage? Isn’t loyalty a two way street? Also loyalty isn’t only physical, you have to defend your spouse against attacks or unsavoury comments despite whatever disagreements you may have had.
Can you guys please help decode Basit here.

Yess!! twinkle in eye most definitely!!! In fact, it made him think he could just take her home then and there..."I was thinking what if we went home together", he said. Like everything was perfectly fine between them! Her jealousy gave him the confidence to grab her hand like that.
I loved watching the angst as Ayesha saw them come in together...I even felt like Basit knew as soon as he walked in where Ayesha was...it wasn't shown very clearly but the head movement of Basit as he walks up to the stage follows the direction Ayesha must have gone as she left the stage. I would like to think that just as Ayesha noticed him as soon as he walked in, he too noticed Ayesha as soon as he walked in. And true to his polite self waited to get through the protocols before joining her. I would like to think this since the show never made any such thing clear for us.
🤪

Very true about Basit's lack of firmness in insisting he take Ayesha to her home at night. He is pretty callous to let her go away like that. I think for that we shall have to take into consideration how Ayesha's parting words left him in shock. For some time there, Basit seemed to not know where he was or what Soha was telling him.
The only thing he says in Ayesha's defense to Soha is that nothing of this luxurious lifestyle matters to Ayesha. I think in Basit's eyes, what Soha was saying were quite natural things that anyone of his status would say. He didn't find her comments unsavoury. And even when Ayesha shouted at him for telling Soha those things, Basit still acts like he was justified. I think there will be more on this in the coming episodes. His shock as well as him allowing Soha to comment on Ayesha like that, the cause is the same. I think in his heart ( like he was thinking to himself in the hospital), Ayesha is a poor girl whom he married. He is very conscious of the difference in status between him and Ayesha. It is not all solely in Ayesha's head. There is cause for Ayesha's insecurity.
Ultimately for Basit and Ayesha to truly fall in love, Basit and Ayesha both have to let go of this thing over the status difference. And I think both have made some progress on this. Ayesha has lost that hesitancy to speak her mind. By the end of ep 25, she was arguing back word for word. Basit too has moved away somewhat from thinking that he did Ayesha a favour by marrying her and letting her have this kind of lifestyle, because he has now realised none of this matters to Ayesha. In ep 23 he was sitting in his room thinking what kind of person are you Ayesha?
What do you guys think?
