Part 1

Shiva and Raavi are a happily married couple. Shiva, an introvert and a hardworking man works in his Pandya store while Raavi, a cheerful woman and a homemaker, does a part time job.

Raavi was pissed with Shiva today.

Raavi : "Ye bhootnath mujhe satane ke liye hi paida hua hai, itni late ho gayi par abhi tak ghar nahi aya, ek call bhi nahi kiya, kya main kuch jyada hi bol diya"?

Her forehead creased, fidgeting her "dupatta", she hunched her shoulders and started pacing here and there in the room.

After some time, Shiva entered their room.

Raavi stepped forward and hugged him tightly.

Raavi : Kaha chala gaya tha tu? Kitni daar gayi thi main, aise bhi kya ho gaya ki tu ghar chod ke chala gaya?

Shiva bewilderingly looked at her : Tu abhi bhi yehi puch rahi hai ki kya hua tha?

Raavi : Nahi, mera matlab jhagra hua tha but aisa koi karta hai kya! Kaha chala gaya tha?

Shiva: Court gaya tha.

Raavi : Court mein kya kaam tha tera?

Shiva replied coldly : Divorce procedure ke baare mein lawyer se discuss karne gaye the, tujhe hi to divorce chahiye thi.

Ground slipped from Raavi's feet,

She clutched his shirt and yelled : Ha, maine kaha tha ki mujhe divorce chahiye but iske liye tu mujhe sach mein hi divorce dene ki baat soch lega, main tujhe koi divorce nahi dungi, kaise legi tu divorce, main bhi dekhti hoon!

Shiva blankly replied : Divorce domestic violence pe basis bhi ho sakta hai, par wo main nahi karunga, isse acha mutual divorce karle.

Raavi was flabbergasted on hearing the word, "domestic violence "

Raavi pushed him hard and held his collar : Pagal ho gaya kya Shiva, Ye tu kya bol raha hai, kaisi domestic violence!

Flashback

Raavi had invited her colleagues to her house. She was celebrating her promotion with them. Shiva also came early from his store to join her. Raavi was wearing a gorgeous off-shoulder gown. Flipping her hair, she looked at her guests and smiled widely.

Raj( Raavi's colleague) was gawking at her shamelessly. Suddenly Shiva saw Raj, he followed his gaze and his blood boiled viewing the scene. He glared daggers at him which Raj was completely unaware of. Shiva didn't want to make Raavi uncomfortable so he kept quiet. Then Raj went and kept an arm around Raavi. Raavi felt a little bit awkward but didn't understand his intentions and considering it as a friendly gesture, she let it go.

"Tujhse kuch important baat karni hai " Shiva said in a casual tone to Raavi and wedged himself between them.

Raj : Areh, itna jalne ka bhi jarurat nahi hai, apki biwi apki hi rahegi Main to bas aise hi khada hoon.

Raavi rolled her eyes and stated : Kya Raj, kuch bhi bol raha hai.

Raj: Uff, come on Raavi, tera pati to kuch zada hi conservative nikla, tu kaha itna sundar aur smart hai, aur kaha tera pati pura gawar jaisa behave kar raha hai. Areh, aise mat dek Raavi, main to bas mazak kar raha tha.

Shiva slammed his eyes shut and greeted his teeth.

Raavi : Dek tu mere pati se aise baat nahi kar sakta hai. Sab enjoy karne aye hai, wo karna.

After some time, Raavi went to the kitchen, Shiva was still in the room.

Raj was drunk, he called Shiva and uttered : Kismatwala ho tum, aise sarak jhap hoke bhi Raavi jaisi hot ladki mil gaya, use dekhte hi chune ka maan karta hai, uske karib jane ka maan karta hai, tumhe to wo roj milti hai, main thora kya pas gaya, tumhe wo bhi nahi saha gaya. Kabhi kabhi to maan karta hai ki use bhagake le jaoon.

Anger seized Shiva. His hands tightened into a fist and at that very instance, he punched Raj hard on his face. He started beating him black and blue.

Shiva yelled : Tera itna himmat, tu meri biwi ke baare mein aise bakwas kar raha hai, aaj main tujhe chorunga nahi. When Raavi saw the scene, she tried to break up the argument but Shiva was in his infamous "rudra avatar ", he would have choked Raj if Raavi and the other colleagues didn't stop him. Raavi apologized on behalf of Shiva and her colleagues left the place. Then she shifted her attention to Shiva and shot him a disgusted glance.

Raavi : Sahi kehte hai sab, tu ek jungli, jaahil, gawar insaan hai, tujhe ratti bhar bhi meri koi fikar nahi hai, hai na! itna selfish kaise ho sakta hai tu, aaj meri itni special din thi, mere colleagues ke saamne tu mera naak katwa diya Shiva. Chee.

Shiva grabbed her arms and pinned her against the wall. He yelled : Tujhe pata bhi hai , wo Raj tere baare mein kya bol rahe the, areh, tujhe to aisa dost rakhna hi nahi chahiye, tu dobi ki dobi rahegi, wo banda mere saamne hi aise bakwas kia, to na jane office mein aur kitna ganda kaam karega. Wo tere figure ko lekar baatein kar rahe the, tujhe bhagane ki baat kar rahe the. Kya galat kiya maine, bol.

Raavi : Wo drunk tha Shiva, apne hosh mein nahi tha woh, kya bolne pe kya bol dia hoga aur tu shayad galat samajh liya hai. Tune Raj ke sath sahi nahi kiya hai Shiva. Aur Raj to aise mazak karte rehte hai. Maine pehle bhi dekha tha, jab Raj mujse baat karne aya the, tu kaise bich mein aa gaya tha. Apna soch ko thora upgrade kar Shiva.

Shayad log sahi kehte hai, tu khud insecure hai, tera soch bhi chota hai, Asal mein main koi ladke se baat karu, ye hi tujhe pasand nahi hai. Ek baar bhi socha hai, main un logo ko kaise face karungi. Sab ko lagega, mera pati ek jahil, gunda hai. Tujhe khud par Sharam ana chahiye . Ab to lagrahi hai ki agar shadi se pehle maasi ki baat maan li hoti to ye din nahi dekhna padta.

Shiva's anger rose multifolds.

He shouted : Chee, Raavi, tu mujse zada us Raj pe bharosa kar rahi hai, mera soch chota bol rahi hai, areh agar mera soch chota hota to tujhe kaam karne se hi rokta, tujhe aise party karne se rokta, soch tera chota hai, tujhe sahi galat ka fadk bhi nahi hai. Aur kya kaha, insecure, main koi insecure nahi hoon, main tujhe lekar protective hoon. Tu mujhe selfish bol rahi hai, Tu khud selfish hai, tujhe sirf aapne kam se aur aapne colleagues se matlab hai, mere hone ya na hone se kuch nahi fadak parta tujhe, jaa, maafi mangne ja us Raj se, bol to main hi mafi mangne jata hoon. Jo ladka tujpar ganda nazar dal raha hai, tu use hi defend kar rahi hai, itni kaise andhi ho gayi tu. Aur aaj to tu humari shadi ko bhi bich mein la ayi, waah! Sach to ye hai, tu hi mujhe shadi karke khud pachta rahi hai, tera itna sab amir dost, sab achhe achhe kapde pehnte hai, unke pati aur patni bhi modern hai, isliye tujhe ye gawar abhi aur pasand nahi a rahi hai. Sharam to tujhe ani chahiye aur tu mujhe bol rahi hai. Himmat kaise hui teri...

Suddenly, he felt a burning sensation on his left cheek. His eyes widened in shock realizing Raavi slapped him, yes, his wife, his love slapped him. A lone tear rolled down his face on the sudden realization.

Raavi : Tu mere barein mei aisa sochta hai, nahi rehna hai mujhe tere sath. Divorce chahiye mujhe samja, Ha, mukti chahiye mujhe tujh jaise jungli insaan se.

Shiva stumbled and took a step back.

The incident shook him to the core; he admitted to himself that Raavi slapping him wasn't what a wife who respects her husband would do. He immediately left the room.

He went to the store and collapsed on the floor, crying heavily. Tears filled his eyes.

Holding his left cheek, he murmured: Tune mujh par haath uthaya, mujse divorce manga Raavi. Maine bhi tujhe aaj kuch zada hi bol diya tha par tune bhi to mujhe itna kuch sunayi thi, itna ghatia ilzam di thi, sabse bari baat tu mujhe thappad mara, itna humiliated main zindagi mein kabhi nahi feel kiya. Ye tune sahi nahi kiya Raavi. Main ye deserve nahi karta.

Flashback ends.

Shiva : Ek baat bata Raavi, agar main teri jagah hota, kya tu yeh maan leti. Agar main tujh par hath uthata, kya tu bhi normal react karti? Nhi! Tu Police bulakar sidha andar kar deti mujhe. Haat uthana galat tha Raavi. Ha, shayad Raj ko bhi aise marna nahi chahiye tha mujhe. Main apni galti bhi samajh liya hai par aab hum dono ke bich sab pehle jaise normal nahi rahega. Mai yeh rishta aur nahi nibha payunga. Humein alag ho jana chahiye.

Realization dawned upon Raavi. She realized what she had done. Slapping Shiva was so wrong. Tears streamed down her face. She lowered her head in shame and guilt.

Raavi : Please mujhe ek mauka de, main sab thik kar dungi. Main to aise hi divorce ki baat bol di thi. Aur mere kuch doston ne muje Raj ki harqat ke baarein mein abhi bataya. I'm really sorry Shiva, main sach mein hi dobi hoon. Please mujhe talaq mat de. Mujhe tujpar haath nahi uthani chahiye thi. Aisa dubara kabhi nahi hoga.

Shiva shook his head and looked away. He was really hurt as she slapped him and he just couldn't forget the incident.

Raavi explained that they will start again from scratch , she will try her best to renew their broken relationship and she vowed to earn his forgiveness.

Today, I watched the movie " Thappad" and I really liked it. What makes me wonder that, how people will react if the role is reversed. We talk about equality but do we really maintain it?

In cases of times where a man is downright trying to harass a woman, sexually or otherwise, using cheap and vulgar language, trying to touch her inappropriately, then it is the perfect time to take a slightly or active violent action to prevent any further harm and also to gain back the upper hand.

If a man is trying to invade her personal space or insult a girl to the level where he would slap or hit her , then it is totally okay to slap that person.

But the social media have recently started to make it okay for women to be violent towards men for no good reason, showing it as them being powerful and pressing the whole concept of 'woman is right and the man deserved it'. This is very very wrong, a slap to the face is an incredibly humiliating and disrespectful thing to do and should never be used as an empowering tool. In the case of marriage, it's an issue of domestic violence so slapping can never be glorified, justified or normalised in such situations.

Part 2

Though Shiva filed for their divorce case, due to Raavi's constant refusal, it didn't take place.

Initially, though she realized that her slapping Shiva was wrong, she didn't understand the gravity of the situation and the severity of her act and why it affected Shiva to such an extent. She wanted to sort this matter as soon as possible and wanted to make their relationship normal like before, so she beleaguered him with pleas for forgiveness. It was completely not her fault though. After all, " movies mein to aise aksaar hote hi rehte hai, romantic novels mein bhi heroine gussa karke hero ke ek thappad to marte hi hai, ye to NORMAL hi hai, aur ek kahawat to hai hi mard ko dard nahi hota, to ek thappad se itna kya ho sakta hai!, hai na!" But witnessing Shiva's devastated state, makes her have a second thought. She thought that the best thing she could do to solve the matter was to pacify her dearest husband. She used to cook his favorite meals, or write apology letters to him. Sometimes, she would take extra holidays to spend time with Shiva, she used to plan special dates and tried to start a conversation with him but nothing changed. Shiva had completely isolated himself from Raavi.

The (slap) incident had totally changed Shiva. He was completely isolated, broken, and defeated. He knew that he could never share his inner turmoil with anyone. Either people would laugh at him, stating, " Dekho Chattan pandya biwi se pit ke aa gaya hai" or they would blame him only, even people might falsely accuse him of committing domestic violence, since he was a "man" and moreover he was infamous for his "short-tempered" nature. But the most important reason for which he would anyway neither share it with anyone nor file a divorce case on Raavi on charges of domestic violence was Raavi's self-respect. Though he was extremely hurt with Raavi's behavior towards him, a part of his heart still beats for her and he could never hurt her.

Although they were not divorced, due to Shiva's insistence, they got separated. He needed time to adjust, he needed a break from all these emotions, from these shackles of misery, he wanted to get an introspection, and mostly he needed space and time to process his feelings, to think about their future. Raavi halfheartedly agreed to it.

Finally they completed the formalities for their separation and part ways with a sense of renewed hope. She was unhappy at the separation from Shiva but she had no other choice.

At first, he completely transformed himself into a workaholic person. After that, gradually he took time for self care, rebuilt himself ,encourage himself to do better things in life.

After 3 years,

During these years, Raavi's condition turned miserable. Not realizing the depth of the situation in correct time indeed destroyed her, separation with Shiva traumatized her, she was drowned in immense guilt of not trusting Shiva, of trusting that pathetic Raj over Shiva, not taking proper stand when Raj insulted Shiva, name calling him, insulting him and last but not the least, slapping him. It was the final nail to the coffin. She regretted everything throughout these years. Finally, she realised where and how she was wrong and accepted wholeheartedly that in any circumstances she had no right to hit Shiva or disrespect him in any ways. She even thrashed Raj for his misdeeds and complained to their HR against him.

Shiva on the other hand was feeling free now, though that incident still haunts him but he wanted to be healed and learn. During those years, he had traveled to various places, met new people, helped many underprivileged people and gathered new experiences.

After some days, Raavi got drunk, she came to their house and had an emotional outburst in front of Shiva. With her head hanging down in terrible guilt, she fell on her knees and cried her heart out and seek forgiveness. Shiva's heart pricked seeing her broken state. He realised that Raavi was indeed guilty and she finally owned up her actions. It was incredibly hard for him to give her a second chance after how he suffered, but he considered to give their relationship a chance. Raavi forgot about the incident the next morning.

Two days later, Shiva asked her to meet in a cafe. Raavi panicked.

Raavi : Kya Sach mein hi Shiva divorce to nahi dega mujhe ? Please aisa mat hone dena Somnath.

Kuch din pehle drink karke ghar chali gayi thi. Baad mein pata nahi kya hua tha. Kya main phir se kuch gadbad kar diya. Firse use kuch ulta sidha to nahi bol diya, us paar haat to nahi uthaya.

Her expressions hardened and she paled. Tears rolled down her face. She slapped herself and mentally scolded herself to again commit a disaster in Shiva's and her own life.

Shiva came to the cafe and greeted her.

Raavi 's eyes were on the brink of tears.

Shiva : Dek, one time offer hai, lena hai to lele, shayad pehle jaisa sab sahi nahi hoga, sach kahu to tujhe main pura maaf to kabhi nahi karpayunga par phir se saath rehkar dek sakte hai, in 3 saal mein bahut kuch sikha maine, khush bhi the, but kahi na kahi zindagi adhura tha, tera bhi tha, hamari zindagi ek dusre se judh kar hi pure hote hai Raavi. To.. ( Pausing) ekbar, shuru se shuru karegi mere sath?

Raavi's happiness knew no bounds. She beamed and smiled in contentment. She wrapped her arms around him and hugged him tightly.

Raavi : Shiva, main bahut sharminda hoon. Main tujhko mujhe is baar maaf karne ko nahi bolungi kyon ki mujhe ehsaas hai ki kitni badi galti hui thi mujhse. But is baar dekhna main tujhse shikayat karne ki koi mauka hi nahi dungi. Tu jo bolega wo Sach, tera sab baat manungi, khud se zada tujhpar bharosa karungi. Kabhi Divorce ki baare mein nahi bolungi, aur tujhpad kabhi haat nahi uthayungi.

Shiva : Ek baat yaad rakhna Raavi, agar aisa kuch dobara hua to humara rishta wahi pe hi khatam ho jayega. Tab main tujhe dusra mauka nahi dunga. Mera bhi self respect hai. Ek insaan ko thappad marne ke baad, uspar kya bidta hai, ye sirf wo insaan ko hi pata hota hai. Apne life partner se har koi izzat, pyaar, bharosa ka umeed rakta hai. Ek incident bhi sab kuch bighar sakta hai, Raavi. Abhi bhi jab tujhe dek raha hoon, mujhe usdin ka hi yaad aa raha hai. Agar aap apne partner ko sahi mahine mein respect karte ho na, to kisi bhi haal pe use thappad marne ki baat bhi nahi sochoge. Mujhe usdin physical pain nahi hua tha, but mere dil mein jo dard hua tha na, main jitna humiliated feel kiya tha na, wo tu kabhi nahi samaj payegi. Tu shayad ye bolegi ki usdin tujhe bohot gussa a gayi thi, aur tu apna gussa control nahi kar payi thi. Gussa to mujhe bhi aya tha, main to apna limit nahi cross kiya, society ke log na hum mardon ko hi harwaqt responsibe, strong aur protective hone ko kehte hai. Agar hum royenge to hum par hi sab haste hai. Aaj agar koi bahar wala humein dekhega to yehi kehega, ki usdin tu gusse mein mujhpar haat uthayi thi, tujhe dard hui thi, aur dard ka wajah main tha aur main wo deserve karta hoon, par agar main gussa mein apna koi limit cross karta, tab inlog hi mujhpar kichar uthate, mujhe zaleel karte, mere dard ke barein mein tab koi nahi puchta. Usdin hum verbally argue kar rahe the!, to wo baat wohi tak hi ho sakta tha, par khair.. aab jo ho gaya wo to baadal nahi payenge.

Aur mujhe khush karne ke liye aisa maat bol ki jo main bolunga wohi manegi, tera bhi dimag hai, sahi galat ka samaj hai, isliye tu aaj apni galti maan rahi hai, aur galti mujhse bhi ho sakta hai, hum dono ko ek sath har problem ko solve karna hoga, jo galti karega use samajna aur samjhana hoga.

Raavi: Main wada karti hoon ki tu jitna respect deserve karta hai usse bhi kayi zyada tujse pyar aur respect karungi. Isbar koi galti nahi hogi.

Shiva lightly pulled her by her ear.

Raavi : Ouch, ye kya tha? aab maine kya kiya?

Shiva: Phir Se agar Daru pikar tamasha kiya na to mujhse bura koi nahi hoga!

Raavi laughed and muttered a sorry; kissing him on his cheek, she finally hugged him again.

First of all, I would like to let u know, that this is not an actual 2nd part of the story. The 1st part had an open ending. You may assume the ending according to your own perspective, like maybe Shiva and Raavi actually parted forever and he didn't give her a chance and choose his self respect over love. If you want the other side, then this part is for you. Sometimes you also need to forgive for the sake your love, for your relationship and also for yourself. A second chance in love portrays maturity and forgiveness. Obviously you will not forget the incident but everyone deserves a 2nd chance, right?, and if the person is truly guilty of his/ her actions, then why not?

Now coming to this TS.

I love this TS to the core of my heart. I mean this TS is so so important and eye opening in a world full of pseudofeminism.

I love it to every bits and pieces. ❤️

Very nice one. Physical violence is wrong, be it coming from a guy or a girl. ITV is the worst in showing this
