I swear my Watpad influences are very obvious on this one 😂 Hope you enjoy it!!!!
Having Ayesha around him in the office was more than he could have ever hoped at the moment. It was both amazing and torturing. While her presence was lighting up his world like a ray of sunshine in the darkest day, not being able to tell her all these things that had remained unsaid inside his heart for so long was tormenting.
Sometimes, he would pass by her office while walking around just to get a glimpse of her and other times he would call her inside his office pretending not to be satisfied with her work, so he can spend some time alone with her.
While Ayesha was scheduling his appointments, he called her. "I noticed some mistakes on the presentation you've prepared for today's meeting". She was confused as she hadn't noticed any mistakes. "But I double-checked everything before I handed it over" she responded. "Well maybe you've missed something" he told her and hung up. Ayesha went in his office to take a look at the presentation once again before the meeting. " But everything looks fine" she uttered. "Is that so?" he asked in return pretending not to have noticed that there were no issues with the presentation. "If there isn't anything else, I shall go and prepare the meeting room" she said still puzzled as to why he had called... "Ayesha..." every time he called her name her heart skipped a beat... Especially now, his voice had a strange mixture of pain and longing..."Yes?" she replied hoping that he would finally express his feelings and ask her to come back to him "Can you get me a cup of coffee please?" Ayesha tried her best to keep calm but deep inside she was disappointed he didn't tell her anything. "No milk, no sugar" he continued... "Bitter just like your attitude" she murmured while walking away... He couldn't help but crack a smile to her sudden tantrum.
After a long meeting, almost everyone had left but not Ayesha. She had decided to work overtime in order to keep herself busy and not think either about Basit or her mother's constant taunting after accepting the job. She texted Bano telling her she would be late and immediately got to work. Not soon after that, she had fallen asleep on her desk.
Basit, who still hadn't left, started walking around the employees' desks to make sure everyone had left as it was getting late. Suddenly, he stopped in his tracks... His wife was there sleeping on her desk; exhausted, shattered, yet so painfully beautiful and calm she never failed to amaze him. He was now staring at her; her long brown hair cascading down her shoulders, her perfume filling up the room, making him feel almost intoxicated. "How come I've never noticed how beautiful she is?" he wondered. Right now, his eyes only saw Ayesha, he couldn't think about anything else except her. He then noticed a couple of hair strands falling on her face and went to remove them but he couldn't resist caressing her face as well. Ayesha started moving as if she had felt the heat of his fingertips in her dreams. Because he was her dream, her prince, the man that introduced her to the world's most beautiful and tormenting feeling and even if she didn't have any courage to tell him any of these, it was going to be like that forever.
He kept staring at her; suddenly she indistinctly started muttering his name. She was having a nightmare. "Ayesha! Wake up!" he shouted. She woke up in cold sweat. "Are you ok?" he asked holding her hand and trying to calm her down. "It was terrible Basit; It felt as if I was drowning and then you came..." Ayesha still hadn't realized that she unintentionally revealed her fears and thoughts to him as well as the fact that he was the one that saved her. "I'll bring you some water" he said still worried. Basit came back with a glass of water just to find an empty desk.
He then rushed outside and started running trying to keep up with her. When he finally got closer, he grabbed her wrist and turned her around so that she could face him. "What are you doing?" she exclaimed surprised at his gesture. "Ayesha let me take you home, it's not safe for you take a taxi at this hour" he pleaded. "It's ok, I'll manage." she responded still not being able to figure out what he really wanted from her. She was confused; couldn't tell if he loved her, pitied her or if he was just doing her a favor. Soon enough, rain started pouring leaving her with no choice but to go with him.
Basit quickly opened the car's door. Ayesha was reminded of the very moment he had opened that door and ousted her out of his house and life so she turned her face looking outside the window trying to hide her pain. While still driving, Basit took a glimpse of her again and saw her sleeping. Not wanting to wake her up or upset her family at this late hour, he thought it wasn't a good idea to take her home but instead drove to the beach. He also needed to spend some time in a tranquil place to organize his thoughts and reflect on himself.
When they finally arrived he felt his eyes getting heavier... He was drowsy and sleepy... The day had dawned and Ayesha woke up a little dizzy but having slept peacefully in a long time. As soon as she saw him sleeping next to her, it was as if she couldn't fight the urge to touch him even for a brief moment. She immediately started running her fingers through his hair while her eyes were fixed on his face... She reached for his hand and finally put her head on his shoulder enjoying the feeling of warmth and serenity next to the man she adored...
Girl! This was lovely! You brought back memories of some of the most beautiful moments in this show between Ayet. As I read this I could literally picturise the scenes playing out in my head. Love the idea of the two of them at the beach and Ayesha waking up to see him next to her.
Please write more. Wattpad has clearly influenced you in the right direction. Absolutely loved this! You have put balm on our bleeding hearts with this one.
