every drama has to do something different if they have to entice the audience. chemistry is often difficult to describe but not all couples share the same vibe. thats what draws the audience and makes them feel they are watching something different.

rajjo and arjun chemistry is good but what makes it different is that it is the chemistry of comfort, care and safety. it really displayes the chemistry of trust. so it is far more emotional as opposed to a physical kind of awareness at the moment.

Rajjo - Watch Episode 19 - Rajjo Comes Before the Thakurs on Disney+ Hotstar

for me, the scene I really enjoyed was in ep 19 when she falls from the first floor half blind and he catches her in panic. instead of googly eyes, his immediate dialogues show great concern, panic as well as affection. his "you are okay" is a reassurance to her as well as himself -- thats how scared he was at the moment. that is what takes back his family aback. his obvious care for someone unknown to them.

this care is born out of a protective instinct from the moment he dives into the water to save her. he is the type of man for whom the difference between care and love would be his protective instinct. rajjo is that girl to bring that out in him. however, this isn't about being mahaan. he was put in circumstances where his instinct was to help her out. now he is attached whether he realizes it or not.

ultimately, they are drawn to each other because they are uncomplicated, simple characters at heart. neither are mad at the world. they are content with their lot -- he may be stuck selling fertilizer instead of some fancy job abroad but it is not like he is upset about that. his family is dysfunctional and messy but he is not sitting there stressed about it. he belives in kindness and people.

similarly, she is not moaning that she is living in the mountains with a single mother. she is not sad that their family is small. neither is she angsty that she isn't living out some dream as an athlete. she loves to run because it makes her happy. ultimately running is about joy for her.

this means, the typical fall and catch scenes have a kind of innocence and sweetness to them. there isn't that kind of physical awareness between the two yet. they are content to gaze into each other eyes because they are comfortable. there is instead trust and a sense of safety for both that makes these scenes rather sweet. normally you see such scenes between second couple leads because they are not required to have that sizzle and clash. instead, we have a laidback romance happening with the main leads. 😘

Rajveer Singh gets candid on co-star Celesti Bairagey in Rajjo serial

what I like so far about their romance:

-- there is still so much room to grow! when I first saw they got married, my reaction was "so fast?!" but then as I catch up and see the episodes, I can see that it is very early stages in their relationship. they had a friendship and right now, it is in a testing phase. but as for romance, they haven't quite moved into the awakward awareness stage yet. instead, it is very much emotional for them at the moment. they are drawn to each other, they care a lot but it isn't something they can put into words quite yet

-- a romance of protection and kindness -- ultimately that is what defines this romance. their care and concern for each other. he protects her even though he doesn't have to as he helps her finds her mom. she recognizes what he has done for her but also that she has nothing to give back to him for all that he has done for her including saving her from vicky. now she has an opportunity to repay that kindness and she does.

-- arjun's anger makes sense -- what I like is that despite his anger, he can't help but care for her. his anger is based on his dissapointment that he may have read her wrong and that she is a user. he put himself out there to help someone and it is hitting him hard that his kindness may have been taken advantage of. that shakes his belief in people. it is hard for him to believe that he would need protection because no one has been doing it for him in his family. everyone sees him as so capable and mature that even though he is one of the youngest, he is a leader in his family as well as at work.

-- the lack of a triangle - thank goodness! I am bored with these triangles but that is another story altogether. hahahha... his relationship with urvashi feels more like an arranged marriage where he isn't quite comfortable with her on many levels. you can always see his discomfort when she comes on to him so strongly that you can feel him take a step back. however, he is comfortable with his family's choice and it is not like he is unhappy. he has no real expectations either way but it was a commitment that he was sticking through with.

-- no one is mahaan and no one is giving lectures 😆 -- thank goodness! I am so tired of these serials where the FL especially wants to save everyone for no reason at all. here, she is solely focused on arjun and her reasons are very clear; she owes this man a debt of loyalty and she will repay it with her life if she has to. so she does not care about his family and neither does she give them any real explanations. instead she says what she has to say mostly with arjun only. she also is lot more wary of his family members and still deciding who is good and who is bad.

so I haven't caught up yet but just wanted to post some thoughts on the chemistry of this coupling. when I initially saw the trailers, I thought "another imlie type serial" and so I put off watching. while I have yet to fully catch up, I do like what I see so far. 😘

Superb analysis.

It is the deliberately heldback dhak dhak chemistry that makes Arjjo unique.

For a couple of episodes there was that touch and go situation coz Arjun was shown drawn to her.

That drunken confession with the lack of awareness was so poignant.

I wonder what will the turning point of their relationship? As of now the class gap between them is very obvious and both of them seem not too interested to cross the Lakshman Rekha for the sake of Romance.

I really like they have held back the dhak dhak chemistry -- like you said, it feels deliberate and that means their scenes feel more poignant because of the lack of awareness. it feels far more emotional and pure -- this isn't about physical attraction but rather two people who are just so comfortable with each other because they feel safe.

the question is if the chemistry will it be as powerful when the dhak dhak eventually happens? hope the emotional connect makes it still entertaining to watch. sometimes, too much dhak dhak becomes boring because it feels flat -- like there is no substance to it you know? or if it is overdone to a point that you start to tune out. so as of now, I really enjoy how their chemistry feels different and fresh even though we have seen the tug and fall scenes in so many dramas.

if the creatives use the running, then it could also change the dynamics and become a turning. what I like about the potential of the running arc is that this is about her capability and nothing to do with him. I am a little bored with these serials where it feels like the girl needs the guy to push her to be who she wants to be. so I would love her to become her own person on her own -- where she accomplishes it without him in some sense and thus is able to face him and his family as her own person. but since star plus keeps forgetting the women have a life outside the kitchen and the home, we should likely keep our expectations low. 😅

so most likely, pushkar's secret will be part of the key to how she is viewed. she is essentially a child of two worlds who was denied part of herself because of a callous father. so other people will look at her differently when they realize she is part of their world but not quite.

P.S -- what is the lakshman rekha they are referring to?

good point about arjun's mom -- she does seem like a very proud mom who is super biased and so it wouldn't matter if rajjo is the queen of jhansi but she would still be considered unacceptable because she isn't of the same clan/community/caste.

it would be great if their romance is of an equal footing. am kind of bored with the whole 'the boy will save the girl' narrative -- why can't she save herself? 😆

Whenever a show gets super evil and all they show is bad stuff ..you can count the days it will end ..it eats me why the script writers draw their inspiration from Ekta Kapoor and Gul Khan …seriously that Ekta kapoor is there for obvious reasons we know …please don’t follow her she is out and out a person who thrives on evil and bad stuff and thinks its cool and exciting ..perversion
