Watched the movie. Gang Rape scene was scary. Felt the anger building inside me when victim was saying sorry to her BF who was her rapist as well. Inner turmoil inside the victim n trying to build herself strong everyday with breaking from inside is well depicted.

Also I can totally relate to traumatized ppl talking with oneself n trying to bury their past inside n trying to show world they r badass.

I was thinking she got a nice fioncee n should marry him but lack of empathy from him towards end just made me change my mind.

I didn't get that either. That was a major inconsistency imo. Because she couldn't muster the courage to even report after being told off so many times by her friend neither did she hurt the perpetrators when he handed her the knife. But for whatever reason all of a sudden she murdered the boy? I think it would have been a miserable life for the kid if he were alive because his victims were rich white AHs. The movie did disservice to Arthur because he is remembered as a kid who murdered his classmates out of jealousy but not that he stood up for his friends.

She murdered him because he deserved to be murdered. Else he would have killed more people. As for Arthur, are we really saying he deserved d benefit of d doubt??

Being bullied does not mean picking up the gun. There are other ways of handling a situation.

Rape goes far beyond bullying. Let's not equate something heinous like rape to classroom bullying. Her classmates who raped her far gone because not only did they rape but they also gaslit her into believing it was her fault and not that serious. Of course none of this implies that any of them deserved to die, but you have to agree that the writing was shoddy here. Ani was so scared but out of the blue she had the courage to kill one of her friend in the most gruesome manner? Now that I think I feel the movie did a bad job of sidelining gun culture.

1. Where am I equating rape to bullying? I was just answering why Ani killed Arthur.

2. Human-beings are complex. Ani killed Arthur because it was the right thing to do, under the circumstances. He was no longer a friend. He had turned into a murderer and a monster in front of her eyes

Ani had this rage inside her,and she was also angry at Arthur for insulting her.May be all that rage combined and resulted in her killing Arthur.

Even outside of school shooting,Arthur may be wasn't the ideal person, insulting a rape victim about their way of dealing with stuff isn't good.
