I hope he somehow tells her and Rahul the truth before getting arrested, so they are aware and can help bail him out. Will be super amazing if that is the moment when she also sees the humanity in him. Forgive kare na kare, civilty shayad ho jayegi. And yes, hope this is not dragged more than necessary or audience will be bored to death.
