The next thing that made Dev in awe of Vidhi was her simple yet deep philosophy towards life, which affected him so much that he incorporated that philosophy in his decision-making like the lohe ki kulhadi story. Amba has nothing like that, her philosophy changes with situation because only end goal matters to her, she has no deep rooted philosophy or principle she goes by.

My point is that Vidhi's words are simple but straight from her heart and direct, not coated or filtered by anything motive-oriented and that's why they reach Dev's heart. For example - "Iss suit mein toh aap chand se bhi dikh jaayein", "keeping change in wallet always", "treat vs party", "saving paper and tissues", "telling about Balghar to Satyavati", all these made an impact on Dev because they were truthful and honest but not aimed at pleasing him. And Dev converted her words and advice into action. At his stature and position, he is surrounded by people who want to please him all the time, Amba included although her motive is different than others.

Dev himself is simple and truthful and values the same in others. And our Vidhi is the epitome of simplicity. So, of course he would be drawn towards her. How could he ever be drawn towards anyone as manipulative as Amba, even if we ignore her obsession for a moment (obsession on Amba's part repulsed Dev even farther).

These things in Vidhi made Dev confide in her, telling her the Balghar secret he says, "main nahin jaanta tumhe kyun bata raha hun", but deep down her honesty and truthfulness had made an impression on him that she is trustworthy. Of course, all those years the shell that Dev had made around him, not letting anyone in, kept interfering for a while and initially he did doubt her for a few things, "that note of secrets", "gossip about him and Amba", but soon he realises he is wrong and now he trusts Vidhi completely, so completely that even when her parents don't believe her, he does - the alcohol fiasco. He could never feel this connection with Amba because he never found her trustworthy.

Another thing that drew Dev towards Vidhi was that being so naive and new to this world's ways, she needed protection at many levels. And given Dev's history as a protecter of his family from an early age, he felt the need to protect her, to teach her world's ways. This added another layer to their relationship. This was never the case with Amba. He never felt the need to protect her because she never really needed his protection, she was self sufficient from the get go.

Then there was the Khaugali Treat, where he breathed free again after all those years, laughed freely again. Here also he said, "log doston ke saath yahan aate hai, main tumhare saath aaya, pata nahin kyun". But the reason was the connection that was made between them - one of trust, unsaid understanding, simplicity and honesty. This could never have been possible with Amba, he never formed that connection with her.

And with all this, Vidhi made an imprint in his heart without him knowing, she became a friend with whom he could share his heart, though because of his closed nature, he kept her at bay or at least tried to. And we all know with time, you never know when that imprint turns into love, which is what is happening with him now, leaving him confused.

oh woww.. I love love love this.. you summed the Journey of ViDev bonding so well.. and with each n every new step towards her he did question him doing so but he kept on going.. cause of her qualities that hard to find in todays world.. and which let him pulled towards her unknowingly and eventually all that ended up having hwr imprint on his heart.

you wrote it so so so well.. it was such a beautiful write up. and you should write a new post on main forum abt ViDev joureny as there are many not knowing how Dev fals for vidhi.. this will help more people know the depth of his feelings for her..

please please do post as separate post...

Thank you so much. Good idea. I will make a separate post.

@BLUE

Yes I think that's the thing they were trying to show with Dev's initial outbursts, him trying to find some fault in her because he is not used to trusting and opening up, he has been a loner almost all his life.

@RED

Exactly! Like Dev often says in awe - Kya ho tum Ms. Vidhi. Kuch alag hi ho tum. He was drawn to her unearthly features since day one.

True true. Our show is all about internal beauty.

By the way I think auto waale scene ke time pe Dev was not drawn to her, but now that he looks back at it, he looks at it in a different way because his feelings are different now.

Wo auto waale scene mei I remember Dev ne daata tha auto waale ko kyunki wo maze le rha tha something along the line ki ladki bhaga ke le ja rhe ho ya kuch aisa hi tha dobara dekhungi to words exact likhungi but meaning to ye hi tha.

Woh clear case tha the lady doth protest too much, methinks ka. Dev ka reaction itna strong isliye aaya tha kyunki usko waha kuch to feel hua tha.

very correct... i now i need to watch the episodes from ths start just to pick all these lines used to say kya ho tum, aur main tumhe kyu bata raha hu.. it was all his defence mechanism trying to question his pull towards her... and eventually it all became helpless in front of her Qualities....

do post.. thank you that you liked the idea..

i doubt he looked back and seeing in different light..

i would rather say it had stirred in him something which he diverts by being angry (i guess on her or on auto wala) cause he was taken aback by her being so close..

just your crush sits right beside you all of a sudden you start fumbling and fdgeting to divert ur brain to not to get worked up.. something like that i felt abt it
