Did Basit suspect Ayesha and Fahad again? Or is it that he’s become possessive of her and anybody else taking away her attention from Basit and making her smile perturbs him?

Girrrrl! That scene was so cute! And you analyse this show exquisitely and I always look forward to reading your takes sooo 😆

But if we are to unpack that exchange...I felt that Basit changes over the course of his forced stay at the hospital. Even after knowing the truth from Fahad about Zoya initially he is hesitant about receiving this care from Ayesha and asks her to go home and send Karim instead. At night instead of waking her up he tries to get the water himself. But then after that we see that he has now grown to love this care he is getting from Ayesha. He tells her that he needs her help and wants her to help him with his meal. I have not found the time to make the gifs but there is this moment when he is smiling as she is feeding him soup when he says "You had one job". But within that scene his expression changes from one of amusement to one of longing as he looks at Ayesha. He wants her attention, he wants to become the centre of her world. When she repeats his own words about the flowers, I think he remembered how he had given the bouquet to her and thanks her.

And then for that scene when she is chatting with a friend, he feels jealousy. He has always been possessive about those he loves and that will never change. He first tries to draw her attention by talking about work. Then he literally frowns as she smiles at the screen. He wants her to smile at him, not at someone else. But the difference from his early behaviour is the way he reacts to Ayesha saying that she was chatting with a friend. I think she deliberately says 'friend' as a sign of defiance like you can suspect me if you want , I don't care. And this time, Basit does not jump to the immediate conclusion that she is cheating on him. Rather he sees her defiance for what it is, her naraazgi for the way he had behaved with her. So he draws her into a conversation and when she talks to him, you can see how her words make him happy. He could just lie there for the rest of his life listening to her. When Bano comes in, Basit is in such a good mood. We have never seen him so happy before this I think. 😆

Btw cappa, working on the fic? I am dying to see your version of Basit in love

is he afraid of her rejection again? He asked her earlier to come back and she showed that she is very uncomfortable with even discussing this. I felt he was just being cautious when he asked her again before leaving the hospital “kabhi kabhi Milne to aa sakti ho”. He probably doesn’t want to make her uncomfortable again.. but somehow it is working against him. Basit has to still figure out what Ayesha wants ☺️

Beautifully analysed Twerps!! Thank you for this! I found the scene to be adorable too and was leaning towards a similar interpretation but reading your analysis is such a delight ❤️

I think this entire incident will help Basit in not jumping to immediate conclusions but rather give Ayesha the benefit of the doubt even if she’s talking to someone on the phone and not disclosing it to him. I wonder what would happen if Ayesha had a good circle of friends which includes guys. How would Basit react to that?

Also it was so cute to see Basit happy, he was even smiling wide even at Bano and joked around with her if he use his thumbprint instead of his signature. You know he’s in a good mood and there’s no doubt about the reason for his mood, she was sitting right next to him ☺️

Did you also notice how Basit seemed annoyed when Ayesha was giving him instructions on what to do after going home. He seemed perturbed that she wasn’t going along with him but didn’t ask in the right manner. He simply states that you can visit sometime if you want. This guy seriously lacks emotional intelligence. You literally dragged her out of your house in front of the staff. No wonder Ayesha thought that he was doing her a favour. What Basit should have done instead is apologise sincerely for throwing her out like that (no matter how justified he thought he was during that time) and then asked her to come home.

Also I haven’t yet started working on a write up. It’s hard for me to imagine a Basit in love. So I see a few traits- he’s gone soft, there is longing inside him, he yearns for Ayesha’s presence and her attention, he wants to give her gifts and make grand gestures. He also seems concerned about Ayesha’s well being particularly her sleep. On that note, what do you think Basit’s love language will be?

Do you have any particular scenario you would like to read about?

So true...he thinks he is being accommodating by giving her space...but every time he asks Ayesha why aren't you getting enough sleep, I think a part of her heart soars to cloud number nine or something. ☺️

🤗🤗🤗

I think Basit would spontaneously combust if Ayesha had a large circle of friends which included men. Like seriously that guy is a total hoarder when it comes to love. He wants her all to himself. I don't think he will ever be able to let go of his insecurities so totally as to accept Ayesha having a very vibrant social life that is independent and separate from his. He would want her to be identified as his wife. I mean so far as his character has evolved in the show, this is my reading. I don't know what else awaits us in the future soooo

And yesss a happy Basit was so cute! Feroze has really put in this innocence into Basit that makes us love him despite the flaws he carries.

And yess Basit really doesn't know how to talk about emotions. Even when he handed the apartment papers, i felt what he had meant to say when he said that he had lain awake all night thinking on how to speak of this...what he meant was the apology he owed Ayesha and the talk around it. But he canot say the words and then tells her that when he is in her presence he feels like there is nothing the matter between them.

Main na munh kholi is like such an apt ost.

As for when Basit finally accepts that he loves Ayesha, it will be intense. He has always been very intense about all he loved and I think it will be the same with Ayesha. I mean we do have that scene pending when he drags her home. He will always be controlling I feel. That is too much part of his personality but maybe he will also soften, realise that he must cherish her, spoil her, respect her person and her choices.

As for scenarios, I wonder how Basit will be recieved the next time he goes to Ayesha's house... how will Qudsia behave? And I have always wanted to see Basit enter Ayesha's room, go through her things, her books, pictures from her childhood perhaps.

Also one thing I absolutely loved in ep 22 is the new background score ...the flute...the melody is so beautiful. Also the sound of the Indian (bamboo) flute is something we associate with romance, wooing, courting, etc...I noticed it first in the scene when Karim returns after delivering the flowers and Basit is dying to hear about Ayesha's reaction on receiving the flowers. Did you guys notice this flute piece earlier in the show?

Spontaneously combust 😂 So true! I don’t think Ayesha’s the type of have a large circle of friends but I did want the makers to show her to have an intimate group of friends, for her to share things and have a personality outside being a daughter and a wife. I would’ve liked to see Ayesha have 3-4 friends with at least one good male friend. I wonder how Basit would’ve reacted then.

A happy Basit is adorable and I would like to see more of him ☺️

Basit really doesn’t know how to verbalise his emotions. He’s also not understood what Ayesha needs of him. We’ve always seen Basit focused on what Ayesha can do for him- be it saving his inheritance or understanding his emotions. I think the time is ripe for Basit to now understand what Ayesha needs from him and their marriage. She also needs reassurance and emotional support. I don’t know why but I feel that Basit perceives Ayesha to be without any trauma or psychological issues whereas she suffers from somewhat of an inferiority complex and insecurity. She’s in need of love and affection which I think she only receives from Bano and somewhat from Sadia (who is gone now). Basit has no idea how lonely she has been in their marriage. Basit needs to up his game now and win Ayesha’s trust.

You are absolutely right when you say that Basit’s love will be intense and passionate. He is also controlling but I feel perhaps with time and mutual love, once he feels secure in their relationship, he will ease up a bit. I would love for Basit to ask Ayesha what she wants out of life and then maybe for her to resume her education and then join Basit or work independently. I wish they showed that character development. I’m also waiting to see the scene where he drags Ayesha home. That looked very intense.

I really don’t know how would Qudsia receive Basit, if he doesn’t make an effort to take Ayesha home in the next few days, she would probably shut the door in his face. As it is she’s fixed Ayesha’s wedding with Yawar without Ayesha’s knowledge. How do you think Ayesha would react to this? Do you think that scene from Ost where Ayesha’s walking on the road and then I presume Basit saves her from a moving vehicle is from when Ayesha gets to know that Qudsia has fixed her wedding?

Also what do you think will be Basit’s reaction once he gets to know that Qudsia has fixed Ayesha’s wedding with another man? Do you think he would be angry at Ayesha? Or he’ll yell at Qudsia and take Ayesha home? Or will he want to let go of Ayesha misconstruing the whole situation?

About Basit entering Ayesha’s room and seeing her childhood photos, it would be really cute. Till now Basit has shown no interest in getting to know Ayesha on such a deep level. But I’m waiting for that curiosity.

I loved the melody too! I think they used it for the first time in the show. It does have a haunting quality to it. Basit looked like an adorable puppy in that scene, waiting to hear how Ayesha received those flowers and then disappointed when Kareem says that she gave no reaction. Him calling her up and asking if she received the flowers and then giving the excuse of not eating since last night to see her was adorable ☺️ The boy needs validation but unfortunately has nobody who could guide him apart form Mani Uncle (who is a bit old to give romantic advice).

It is really a pleasure going thru all the analysis done here!

In the upcoming episode I am really curious to see if Basit will speak about Ayesha to Soha and how much he will reveal

Also looking forward to how both Basit and Ayesha would come to know about Qudsia’s plan to get Ayesha married to Yawar. Would it be the reason Basit takes Ayesha back home?

Hahaha! Poor Mani Uncle! Thanks to Salman, he already had to go beyond his legal duties and egg Basit on into getting hitched! And now he is trying to corner Basit into admitting his love for Ayesha...if he had to literally guide Basit in wooing his wifey, it would be sorely trying for the poor man!
