He is definitely aware about the politics. I never said that he is naive.
My point is him choosing Nimrit was sudden, I don't feel in my opinion that it was any strategy. He doesn't have any enemy and he chose the captain. If he wanted, he could have chosen Tina or Shalin too. She was sitting closer but even Tina was. But that's just my perspective because everyone has their own.
Secondly, him choosing Gautam was again not a cunning move. Any. Cunning or smart player would go with Shiv who Got appreciation by Salman. Why would he let go of a man who is appreciated by audience ( Salman hinted that) and chose another one who is actually bashed by Salman. (hinting audience doesn't like him)
Thirdly, He chose Gautam over others because he likes him the most and it's clear. I also feel, he chose Nimrit because he knew she will choose Gautam because he easily guessed Sumbul.
I feel, his actions are either brilliantly thought out moves or sheer naivety.
There's no in between
