2000’s is complex. We also need a better definition for what popular means. I think Aishwarya is and was more popular than Rani…. Katrina was pretty huge too

70s/80s: Rekha and Hema Malini

80s/90s: Sri Devi

90s: Madhuri

I am not gonna go 70s and beyond.

Obviously there have been MULTIPLE popular actresses in each decade, but if we're rounding off then -->

It was Sridevi for the 80s, ⭐️

Madhuri for 90s⭐️

and 2000s would've been Aishwarya's decade if she wasn't unfairly ejected from several films.

Still she did some great work in the decade (Devdas, Raincoat, Guru, Dhoom2, JA)

From 2010 onward, the criteria of superstardom has changed because of Social Media. Katrina, Deepika, Vidya and Alia all of them owned the last decade at different times.
