His past is not letting him chose present. As a kid he saw abuse of his father. But his mom loved his father and kept him above anything . She never got that respect back for her sacrifice or her patience of bearing wrath. She could have opposed in starting stage but na. She royally took it in name of love. She has indecisive nature which Harsh can't understand and keeps her as dumb. It's his personal decision he kept his wife away and went to another woman . Why did this lady bear all those . She could have taken some step to pacify kid. These days divorces are taken and kids accept it because not to affect their mental health. What abhi faced is that lack of love. When people are not happy in relationship they should not suffocate. This he got in his childhood carried it long till he met Ak. He was not happy in his family any time. He got peace seeing her selfless love towards her family. Sacrifice he does not like as he faced hell before ar shadi .again for kv she went he can't accept her. How long she choses her family against her own maritial life.butwjen two knocks done on head thru kuku and Mimi still he is unable to get what she for him because he can't understand it. He never sacrificed anything for anyone. His denial mode is safe for him now to be in his safe zone not to be hurt again .when someone questioned her love on abhi,ak takes that Durga roop whoever it is even it's abhi she answered him and went. Her love is never wrong so none can judge it. He is not recognising his old ak who loved him above anyone in this shown ak. That's why i quoted sati parvati shivji phase going on as they referred in yesterday episode. He can't see her as old ak nor get any old memories. The moment he gets his memories he connects all dots. He is in that deserted mode where she left him. He is not able to accept Harsh also till now for same reason.I think Meher as u said it’s his childhood trauma that’s causing insecurities - he doesn’t want Akshara to prioritise him over family - but treat him equal as family.
He was never anyones priority since childhood - Manjiri always chose Harshvardhan over him despite Abhimanyu fighting so much on her behalf. Harshvardhan always loved him - but looked at him like an asset - too surgeon of Birla hospital and always mistreated his mother - so no bond there.
When he met Akshara - he fell in love instantly and gave her everything. He expected the same in return - but she pushed him away for Arohi. Even after confession - due to choosing wrong words - she said to him our love is responsible for Manish’s heart attack. Mehendi - she told him truth. But later - took Arohis blame on herself. That time he felt defeated - because he tried so hard to make her love herself, care and prioritise herself - and when she took the fall for Arohi - that went down the drain.
Due to all these reasons there’s a deep seated feeling in him that she’ll always chose family. So they multiplied after seeing video of Kairav running away with her. In anger - the dumbo didn’t realise Akshara has changed - she called out Arohi for giving wrong medicine to the kid and didn’t shield her. She started thinking of her career and took steps in that direction.

After watching today's episode! What i believe, abhi is struggling a lot! His a lost puppy! It's information overload for him and his main guid and mentor I.e khand matha is not there to guide him! He feels totally alone! Coming to akshu i also felt really bad for her, she had so many hopes of reuniting with abhi, she wasn't expecting a thank you or appreciation, she just wanted abhi to understand and take her into a warm hug, but instead he ridiculed her love!
