I think Twinkle's writing is hella overrated and I disliked Shweta Nanda's writing too but if they cash on their lineage then so what? People do have curiosity for stars and elite families and buy their work or avail their services.

Salman's paintings look average but his art sells as he is Salman Khan.

So why can't Gauri's design business work?

On internet, a certain section of audience behave like the celebrity's family should be kept hidden or how dare they have one even. Because if they are being known, it's because they are leaching off of the fame of the ONE, if they are not being seen, they are plain average, good for nothing etc.

So anyway, janta & their families are better than anyone. While celebrity & families - well.. too many opinions. But dare you confront these fellows with actual facts, they will end up mocking everyone, to show how intellectual they are.

Jaya Bachchan had a bad attitude

Jaya is an old lady. Woman of her times. Hence not used to paparazzi, crowds, flashy cameras and mostly goes bonkers when mobbed by fans or media. She has phobia of crowds. And Bachchans have spoken about her phobia often. Why assume people of her generation will be okay with flashlights and cameras, paparazzi of today?

They are not used to selfies either. Media was hardly there in their times.

That said she has a regressive mindset and is protective regarding her family and ends up shouting in Rajya sabha or in media also if someone talks about her family. It looks like arrogance but she is aggressively protective about her family name.

Person of her age and someone who takes shit from family, tolerates affairs, does all crisis management, one sided adjustment, will mostly end up frustrated.

On Rendezvous also Abhishek admitted Jaya was shock absorber of family. Must have taken toll on her over time.

Cut her some slack. I do not like her either but she does not deserve bashing she gets as a wife.

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I don’t think SRK had an affair with priyanka…

Srk is super friendly and touchy feely with everyone he meets.. he lets men and women hug him, kiss him, touch him.. his personal belongings have made their way to people he met all the way from Afghanistan to Pakistan and Malaysia… I’ve seen clips of him literally taking off his jewelry and watched and gifting to people so PC having his jacket is no big deal… alia was seen wearing his coat…

Priyanka is a more refined version of kangana who took someone’s frndly nature and decency for something more…

having said that, I think Gauri designs are tacky 😆 but then again most rich people homes I’ve seen in BW circles and even ambanis are really tacky… so I guess it’s a rich people thing which people like you and I can’t understand 😆

FYI Jaya and Gauri supported their husbands when they were NOBODIES and were not even getting work in films and were struggling.

Gauri especially married SRK when he was not even from a well connected or famous family like Bachchans and defied social norms to marry a Muslim guy and though she felt lonely and like stranger in Mumbai when she came here in early 20s, she never left SRK's side.

Jaya is hated for angry outbursts and regressive attitude but she is the reason why Bachchan is a star and even survived. She worked with him when no one else did, she introduced him to her colleagues at FTII. She fought with even Rajesh Khanna and others who used to mock Amitabh. She has fought like a tigress for him and her family. She gave up her career at peak to obey his whims and she used to tolerate his affairs, tantrums quietly and never left him, took care of his parents and did all sorts of prayers, fasts, penance when he was hospitalised after Coolie accident and would walk barefoot to temples praying and fasting for him. She was the one who joined politics, started working again and opened production house and made serials when Amitabh's own ABCL failed and he went bankrupt. Even now she maintains their social networks and connections and gets them political benefits though Bachchan himself left like a coward after Bofors.

Even foreign diplomats who visit Bachchans say how Jaya personally serves guests and takes care of everything till date.

Do you think Amitabh or SRK could focus on work 24/7 if their wives were not there to support them or take care of family and attend to even their connections and social circle?

Jaya had every right to dump Amitabh the way Dimple left abusive relation with Kaka, Babita left Randhir etc. But she did not. Today she is hated or fanbois think Rekha suited AB better or hers is true love and Jaya is not?

Jaya and Gauri belonged to educated and good families. They were not some poor street dwellers who AB or SRK did a favour by marrying.

To hate on star wives or belittle their achievements or assume they are freeloader leeches living off husbands is cheap and reeks of jealousy. Their husbands are what they are due to them. SRK got mental stability and a family despite loss of parents only due to Gauri. Gauri has no issues with SRK's sister also living with them or else there are cheap fights between DILs and sister in laws. SRK's sister also happily lives with them and takes care of their kids like her own. Gauri's contribution in this bond should not be erased.

These women have been with their husbands through thick and thin. Any man would be lucky to get such support. These women have earned right to use fame or money of their husbands which they earned thanks to partly their sacrifices.

Gauri is not even some doormat. Nor makes regressive statements. It is good if she is doing a business. She handles Red chillies PH along with SRK too, right? Why can they not work as team and diversify as much as they want if they have means to do so?

And we can see what that has done to her..became as bitter as kerela..none of these are admirable traits..and i don't even know why you mentioned them because it only makes her look bad..wish she stood for herself then..may be she would be a less bitter person today..she chose to centre everything around him and he only sucked all the happiness out of her..and are we romanticizing this and making it like a trait we should admire? No..more power to women who leave their AH husbands..and make a world for themselves..there are so many of those not only in showbiz and they have raised their kids beautifully as well..

JustWandering, I second your opinion about a non-affair between SRK and PC (although I'm damn sure PC did everything to make it happen - and when it did not to insinuate it happened).

Atominis, I understood your initial posting as an attempt to show the positive side of a wife being loyal to her husband (and that she should not be bashed in any way to be the wife of a successful man). Am I right?

In my opinion, being a partner of a celebrity needs a lot of emotional strength and - coming to Gauri as SRK's wife - she definitely has that. In public she was still very loyal to ShahRukh, especially when HE was denigrated by media (she once wrote an open letter to the press).

However, we know nothing of her really private life although both give the vibes of a couple in good mutual understanding.

Nevertheless, I'm sure that Gauri is a woman with an excellent work-ethic (and she would be this kind of a woman also without SRK). And honestly, isn't it one of human characteristics that almost everybody has an opinion about somebody and likes to let it know to other "somebodies"? ...and obviously it makes much more fun to bash and gossip although it is a drifting into a negativity which I find quite sad.
