if I could ever go back in this lifetime, I would want to go back to my first memories and keep repeating till the present... like the song that one puts on repeat. I would want to be that little 4 year old sitting on my mom's hospital bed while she lovingly gave me the biscuits she had saved from her meal. I would want to be that 13 year old swimming in the pool with two girls I had a crush on finding out that they too were trying to get my attention, to the first stirrings of adolescence. I would want to go back to the day I found I had gotten into my dream college. I would want to relive those walks back from classes wondering what would become of me, to the sense of idealism, to the hopes for a bright future.
as for changing things, I wish I had never cheated on my 9th grade final exam. It still hurts when I remember the disappointment on my dad's face when he heard about it. He did not have to say anything... Ironically, my best friend and I were exchanging notes, and we were the 2 best students in that class, just doing it for kicks. I would want to hold Mrs. M. tightly. She was an old English teacher, who I accidentally hit with my rubber-band when I was aiming at another kid. She was very fond of me, and I could not believe I had let her down. She passed away a year later and I still remember her kind, beautiful face. I wish I could change the lives of those kids I saw in an ashram who lived a hard life just because they were born in different circumstances... They did not complain.
if I ever look back, I think it would be with gratitude for the life I have had, despite the countless times I screwed up, with all the moments of pain felt, and even with all the silly decisions I took. And I would wish I get to do it again. To live again. To live this life again. Like the protagonist in a long-running drama, I would trust and pray the Creator has worked out a good role for me in every act.

Harvard or Stanford? 😆 your post was a reminder that it's important to take stock of the little things that we're often too busy to appreciate. But at the end of the day, life itself is a huge blessing and we can always find something to appreciate no matter what's happening in it ... cuz as long as there's life, there are possibilities.
another feeling I love is when I walk out of my gym after crushing the workout session. 😎
why does it have be one or the other. There was always grad school :)
in the list of things above, i forgot the time I was a 6 or 7 year old, lying on my grandmother's lap pretending to be asleep. She somehow always knew I'd immediately wake up as soon as she started feeding me choori, a punjabi dish. Oh, to be able to go back! There were lots of fun times partying, listening to Tu Hi Meri Shab Hai blaring loud in the car driving up to nightclubs we could gate crash as kids when the parents were away. But its always the simpler stuff I have fonder memories of...
yes i feel the same way after the gym workouts.
now hope to have fond memories of this place too... one of these days.😛😆

@bold: I'd have thought that your cup's runneth over with fond memories by now. 😆😆
yes, thank god for grad school. but I once saw you arguing vehemently against going to school in a Ranbir thread. Ranbir's lack of formal education after high school sparked that debate, I think. Were you just trying to piss people off or did you mean what you said about college being overrated? 😆
anything to "spur" discussion.😛 I wouldn't call them debates.😆
you're right. Not looking for more memories😊
