Tickets at INR 75

So, earlier there used to be some weekdays where tickets at selected PVRs used to be a bare minimum of say 120 or 150 (don't remember it much). After a long time, I have seen such low prices for tickets on a weekend across all major theaters. Putting Brahmastra aside, the shows for a really small movie like Chup are bordering on a full house. Is anyone else interested in this dynamic? I mean, I personally wouldn't have imagined sold out shows for the movie Chup, but Book my shows says otherwise. Can small movies do this thing for a stronger wom wherein they can atleast have a shot at doing well.

Ticket pricing is different in different cities. B and C centres anyway don't have such high prices as metros. My own experience states that movie prices differ wildly across states and cities. Even a luxorious movie experience in a tier 2 city will be way more reasonable than what we spend in a metro. So I think the whole 75 rupee thing can actually mean something more for metro cities than for the others, because in many smaller cities watching a movie for 120-150 is pretty common

(Here I'm not considering the whole crazy black marketing of tickets that takes place for some gigantic southern films)

Ticket prices were never the issue. Burger & Popkorn starts at Rs.450/-; it is a starting price.

The rush for Rs. 75/-may seem lucrative, but the price of snacks will be the same. An average cost for 1 person watching a film in a multiplex today is 1000 bucks. I have taken 100 bucks as the average ticket price. Which means, unless burger/popkorn's high prices aren't reduced to a normal level, they won't be rush in multiplexes.

We have capped prices at our place so ticket prices are never an issue but the refreshments cost a bomb 😄 lockdown mein I used to patronize bechara PVR by ordering popcorn from them!! The quantity they used to serve then was generous!

Yes, the pricing of snacks is an issue, so is the pricing of tickets which is why different states are still struggling on how to or whether to cap or not cap the ticket prices. If I'm not wrong there was recently a huge issue in Andha government wrt to ticket prices and many debates that followed.

Yeah, I remember PVRs listing their menu on online delivery platforms during lockdown on heavy discounts. Never really ordered but had I remember joking about it though. 😆 Only if I had known about the quantity then, would have surely taken advantage.

They are still listed on Zomato n Swiggy. Not sure about the quantity now though! During lockdown toh they even sent a sweet note of thank you along with huge quantity of popcorn. I found that to be a nice gesture!
