Dilwale - 195 crores

Bajirao - 255 crores

That is the criteria by which Hindi movies are judged.

Yeah, SRK has massive following among the NRIs. So his film overperformed outside.

But in India, which is where hits used to be counted until Brahmastra, Dilwale lost, and it wasn't even close. Those em facts.

And I don't like DP, but I'm ending up defending her because fair is fair.

SRK is only called the Badshah of Bollywood. He's not actually badshah of anything. No one's obligated to drop their films to make his movies hits. Deepika was perfectly justified in saying challenge accepted when it was SRK himself who initiated that internet chatter.

During the Aryan fiasco, SRK fans were actually keeping tabs of who in Bollywood supported vocally. Those who kept silent were condemned as traitors (Paraphrasing).

Seriously? People are entitled to prioritize their own safety. They're not obligated to fall on the sword for SRK.Nor is anyone obligated to withdraw when the king saunters into the arena.

I dislike Deepika for her PR, her comments about other women, her slobbering over successful men. I dislike her behavior as though she alone is responsible for the success of any movie she's in.

But she won the Dilwale-Bajirao fight fair and square. Though I would characterize it more as an SLB win.

Can we celebrate the films Yaadein or Saalam-E-Ishq then ? Those films bombed in India but in overseas we’re hits.

Fact remains Dilwale collected more than BM .😆

Thanks for your concern but no thanks. I am not here to win silly internet arguments . Just stating the facts the numbers.

Wow! It's really interesting to read the arguments...

The Indian Box Office may declare whatever it wants...India is not the world, not for the success of a Hindi movie or Tamil or Telugu or Kannada or...and whatever parameter it chooses to declare a movie disaster/flop/average/semi-hit/hit/blockbuster/ATB, it may do what it wants.

Yes, concerning Dilwale, SLB won (and between Deepika and SRK, it definitely was banter), but fairness has nothing to do in that "win", I think. Btw, I would refrain from the term "fair" when business is the main focus.

I really doubt that there are ANY hard feelings between Deepika and ShahRukh.

Concerning fans: well, isn't it - mostly - their prerogative to praise their favourites and stress the positive they see. On the other hand, I find it petty(small-minded) and annoying to demean those who aren't the own favourites. It's not only very bad taste - imo - but also a rather low behaviour. One doesn't elevate someone as his/her fan by stomping on others.

Guddu, you're intelligent enough to relativise the term of success - at least, when it comes to art and its reception.

1. Khan Saab is India's Superstar 1st then he is for rest of the world. So when you really want to talk about him, talk about INDIA 1st.

2. What is it to do with me when the whole discussion is made here on other different things?

Historic hit actually I think. An it may help recover its cost. But the domestic under performance is a stain that remains 😆

No, Guddu, SRK is Indian, but he is a global star. India is his homeland, it's where he lives and started his carreer. Indian audience are those who made him a star, but he got growing into being known (and cherished) by many, many people without desi/south asian/ arabic roots. Like the great ones of Indian cinema from 70 years before he got to be an ambassador of Hindi/Indian Cinema. Many of those - especially in the West - who started with him, also ventured into Indian Cinema of other languages and regions.

SRK definitely merits more than being reduced to the frontieres of his homeland (like other Indian movie stars, too).

For you, BOI may be your "bible", for me it's just BOI...just a source of information (I may believe or not isn't relevant at all for my own impression).
