Brahmastra is an affront to the acting talents of Alia (Spoilers) - Page 2

What is disappointing is that Ayan Mukherjee wrote such a weak character who has no depth other than following the male character around. She has no agency or individuality of her own. She just exists to be a “button” for the male character.

He had written stronger female characters in the past. This is why Brahmastra is average for me. I was so disappointed at the characterisation of the female lead.

Romance is a part of hero's journey, it's not the romance and the reviews are all about how the movie is good, fantastic even, except for that small little smidge and the dialogues, and Ayan could control one of those two.

Then, the two astras could have fallen in love or something if it had to be RoManTiC because of the ChEmIsTry

Actually Alia was supposed to do an action role (Hence she used to accompany Ranbir to Germany and other places to train herself for action sequences) but during the first schedule she dislocated her shoulder (Action karna sab ki bas ki baat nahin hai. Even Ranbir gives I-shat-in-my-pants expression while doing action). Doctor told her to avoid heavy action scenes for 2 years, hence Ayan quickly turned the character a damsel in distress from an action queen.

Alia is far from being over!

If Ayan can't master his whatever, there would be consequences (a hurting shoulder doesn't force such a downgrading of a talented actress).

And Alia has another support system which isn't the kind of Karan's.
