Isn’t anyone getting rejected? It seems like everyone is being given a golden ticket - they’ve all been good, no doubting that.

I almost expected Bidipta to get a golden mike - she was really good.

Was surprised to see Vinit, I remember watching his season and not liking him (for his off putting attitude). He was good today but not sure he deserved the golden mike. Golden ticket would’ve been fine.

Channel, makers and judges wanted to defend themselves on the “TRUTH”.

So, watched today's episode. Here's my review:

Neha's terrible as usual in her singing. Seriously, sony tv needs to get better judging panel and that too a more diverse set.

Rupal: Felt more like a song for festival time. Singing felt more rehearsed.

Shujuti Das: Felt like hearing younger version of Shreya Goshal, tbh. It had sweet and melodic tuning, but just felt it was trying to replicate Shreya's original version as opposed to having its own originality.

Shivam singh: Cool voice, I liked it. But feel it might be sticking in one genre of music.

Bunty Bandaal: I didn't like it, felt disconnected. I don't know felt bit mishap in comparison to the original version.

Bidipta Chakraborti: Felt too soft for my taste although I liked the bg score more tbh. Too perfect to be too soft.

Vineet singh: I just felt like, dude, can you sing instead of sob? My goodness, 🤦‍♀️ . Voice was felt disconnected tbh. Needs improvement.

Chirag Kotwal: Felt bit too mumbly or something. I don't know, I didn't like it.

Summarizing my take on the 1st weekend.

1. The drama is becoming unbearable! Half the airtime was spent on OTT drama in bags and bags, and that too from Sarojini Market!

2. I know many of the contenders from before, so nothing new for me there. Neither Senjuti nor Bidipta and Anushka have evolved to any significant levels beyond their previous shows (based on this one showing). I have a weakness for Senjuti from Saregamapa, but no sparks flew for me when I heard her audition. Anushka may survive the next cut, she is capable of better and is a very young singer with some talent.
Vineet is HR's protégé. He will be in the finals much like Nihal (who deserved it though). I am not a big fan of his singing but clearly he is a sort of PD slot occupier in IL13.

3. Of the new faces for me, the one I liked the most was Rishi Raj Singh. I'd like to hear one or two more songs before deciding if I should follow him in the show.
Navdeep Wadali will be a one track singer incapable of any meaningful variation. I don't like these type of singers in reality shows because they are not tested enough and given preferential treatment when others are forced to bear the brunt of variation and topical relevance.
Deboshmita Roy sounded nice but that one song is hardly enough to draw any conclusions. She is in the Anushka Banerjee / Neelanjana Ray bracket for me as of now, a sleepy version of them. How she handles high scales will be of interest to me. Not sure why she got a Golden Mike for that performance.
Chirag Kotwal, Shivam Singh and Rupam Bharnarhia I have no comments on. Not my type of singer.

2nd Day

Roopam - decent performance. Didn't find anything extraordinary.

Senjuti - Loved her performance. She did very well.

Bidipta - Sweet voice. Will wait for few more performances.

Shivam - Soothing voice. Song suited his voice and he sang beautifully. But I found his performance in SS2 finale average. So let's see.

Bunty - Weakest audition performance so far. Don't know why was he selected.

Vineet - Surprisingly for me he is a totally new name. I might have seen him in HR's album song but I don't remember. His performance was really good. I found his voice little similar to Sonu Nigam.

Chirag - Again beautifully sung.

No, a different girl with the same name I think.
She looks very different nowadays and sings in local shows.
