Please get yourself some knowledge on mental health. It seems to me you lead an extreme sheltered life. Do you know anyone can fall into depression or other mental disorders. Any failure in life, illness or death can cause trauma.
You have no idea about drug rehabilitation works. You cannot stop narcotics suddenly. It will cause cardiac arrest. Similar thing happens if a type 1 diabetic patient stops insulin or immuno compromised person stops their essential medicine. Drug withdraw is done under the observation of a certified medical practitioner who monitors the entire process. Physical symptoms takes few months to go. Then counselling happens for preventing relapse. One of my friend works in rehabilitation centre. So I understand the process.
I have suffered from depression. My work life took on my mental health. I took councelling too. So many members here on India forums have suffered and gotten help too.
Most of us are empathic towards others.
HIV can happen because of medical negligence or coming in contact with infected body fluids. HIV can be managed with medicines. Now days medical science has made it possible for HIV infected mother not to pass the infection to kids. People with HIV are leading normal lives.
Cancer can happen to anyone at any age. Small children to senior citizens can die from it. Some cancers are hereditary and some happen due to hormonal changes. Chemotherapy is a painful procedure. It's like injecting poison to one's body. Tobacco causes cancer and its a known fact. Still some idiots smoke.
You need to be bit more empathic in real life.
