As for tonight, there are going to be some key contests on display. Both sets of seamers have done well, and many may feel that they're relatively evenly stacked in that department, however in terms of batting Pakistan do have one batter in particular that towers above the rest; Babar Azam might be struggling for form considering his exalted standards, but as they say, cometh the hour cometh the man, and Pakistan could certainly use their skipper to find some of his old magic tonight. There's also Mohammed Rizwan, who has just displaced his skipper atop the T20I batting rankings, who will be hoping to have a say this evening.

As for Afghanistan, while their aforementioned seamers have emerged as genuine match-winners this tournament, their bowling still boasts the destructive potential of spin king Rashid Khan, who didn't have his best outing last time out against Sri Lanka having seemingly been hampered by an injury, and so will be rearing to get back to the standards he's so renowned for. How Pakistan cope with him will go a long way in deciding the winner of tonight's game, and former Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur is certain a plan will have already been formulated on how to negotiate his spell.

5pm We're just 30 minutes away from the toss, and the Wasim Akram is in with the pitch report: "Same colour on the pitch, dark grey. By the time the match starts it becomes a little lighter. Same pitch Pakistan played HK, but this looks much better. Hitting straight is the way to go, but toss will be huge psychologically. On this pitch, it'll be difficult to chase 140+. But the team that wins the toss should bowl first."

Afeef: "It will be special if the final will be against Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. A final no one was expecting."

JOYDEEPSINGHGIL: "It will be interested to see babar vs Rashid in today match , Rashid have dismissed Babar five times in t20i on 58 runs "

"Will we finally get a game where the team batting first wins (PAK-HKG notwithstanding)?"

Most of Pakistan's players have made a contribution in the tournament and only their skipper Babar Azam hasn't got going. Mohammed Rizwan is once again leading the batting charts and the others have supported him well. Naseem Shah has taken to T20Is effortlessly and has been the standout along with the spin twins. We can expect no changes from Pakistan. Afghanistan too have players in form like Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Mujeeb. The pair have done bulk of the work in the two departments with the rest chipping in. But since they lost their previous game there might be a change or two.

Don't worry, the players will regain their batting/ bowling skill by that time. 👍🏼

Babar Azam: We are going to bowl first. The pitch looks like nice and the second thing is dew factor, that's why we are bowling first. Hopefully we pick early wickets and restrict them. The mood is cool and calm, and we will try to continue that momentum. A win always gives you confidence. We have the same team.
