Tbh I never felt like this particular Indian team is that strong rn. Most of our players (esp batsmen) are either out of form or inconsistent and it feels like a haphazardly put together team.
I feel like ppl underestimate the Asian teams a lot but fail to see how most of them have evolved so much and/or are constantly evolving.
For India, I often feel like it's the opposite. There's a sort of... stagnancy in our team that makes me so wary and frustrated. There's so much potential but it's like no one is willing to use their brains to properly plan for it.
Or maybe they don't wanna experiment or risk anything. They just wanna stay in their safety net forever.
I get the same feeling with KKR too. It's very frustrating 😪
Might be a controversial opinion, but if the plan is to load the team with power hitters and to start hitting from ball 1, there's probably space for only two of Rohit/KL/Kohli in this team.
All three of them need time to get in, and to go bang bang from ball 1 isn't quite their style.
There's clearly some team instruction to play aggressively and not waste more than x dot balls- Kohli would've otherwise never played the shot he did today so early into his innings.
