Kusal Mendis: Very happy at the moment. Pathum (Nissanka) and Bhanu (Rajapaksa) were brilliant again today as was the partnership with Bhanu and Dasun (Shanaka). It was the best partnership of the innings with the left-right hand combination coming into play. (Batting approach) We've had a lot of practice in Sri Lanka in the last six months. The coaches tell me to play my normal game, hit the loose balls, and take the singles on offer. That's worked well for us in the last three games. Me and Pathum are not power-hitters. We try to hit the gaps and pick up runs on offer. We like to play the long game, that's our job. The middle-order has power-hitters with Bhanu, Dasun and Danushka. My role is to play my normal game in the first 6-10 overs and lay the platform for them.
