I’m not sure exactly about the legalities. But after 7years of missing the person is presumed dead and the the spouse can get get married on the same grounds. It is not a punishable under bigamy. The onus os declaring that one is alive lies with the missing person.
Bigamy is illegal under Hindu marriage act. The actors you may be referring to, have changed religion on paper. Hence this act does not apply to them.
As far as I understand, it entirely depends on the other spouse who is missing.
Around the validity of either marriages, I’m not sure. Guess it depends from case to case basis.
But it also depends when V-P married. If it was before 7 years then I guess it is invalid, and a crime. Looks complicated.
