Shamsher still continues to be one until he realises what he has done and gets on the path of regret and redemption. And honestly whatever Shamhser did in this episode is nothing new that people are feeling that its a new shade to him. This side of him has always been there. This audience doesn't understand grey or what? They only want to see characters in black or white to understand whats happening. If one goes back to previous episodes when Shamsher was persuing Mehak and her family, he did tell Akram that he was gonna change their financial status over night and he could ask for whatever he wants and Shamsher would do it. When Mehak agreed to get married to him, he said he would take care of her family and that he would protect them and not let anyone hurt them. Par jab woh death sequence chalta hai and he discovers that she was actually in hiding from him, he loses his shit and does all of that cuz according to him he was betrayed and didn't wanna waste any time further and wanted to make her his..Now he has made her his atleast on the nikah paper. The initial anger too has subsided cuz of how things are unfolding. He saw Mehak falling sick in between all this and knows how its affected her. Mehak too tells him to trust her if he really loves her. Yeh idhar pighal gaya. 😆 And he saw some wisdom in Dara's words. He could see that there is a lot of sakhti with mehak from his side and family's side, he got a new perspective that way. Also, he found out himself that this whole heart attack episode is as real as it gets. All this makes him incline towards mehak and her fam. So yeah, he would have paid the hospital bills anyway even if it had happened earlier or later. Aur rahi baat shamsher taking a stand for mehak.. he has been doing that repeatedly from the first few episodes itself. He told his mom to not call her raah chalti ladki, cuz that makes him feel bad. He told dara that woh koi bhi ladki nai hai, uska naam mehak hai. He told Farwa that if she felt so insulted by Mehak she could hurl some insults at him or even pour a glass over him or even better push him into the swimming pool, he was ready to take insults on mehak's behalf. So this side of him has always been there whether mehak was around or not.
So according to me the bill paying thing was in his Character and so was taking a stand for her bit. To me it doesn't seem like white washing. Or out of the blue, ki chalo ab shaadi hogayi hai, we have to show him good now. A villain can also have shades and these are some of the things to him. He can show some act of kindness, have a soft side, all of that.. but the fact remains that he is still a villain. Why cant audience process this if its being shown in grey or if its not in complete black 😆
Shamsher mehak se pyaar toh karta hai. But in extremes. And he will realise that uska tareeka bahut galat hi nai it was also all types of criminal. Yeah for sure, he did go to any length to attain love, to attain her. But now he will see the de merits of it all and what changes it brings in Mehak's life and their life together and how he is responsible for it all. I dont see it as whitewashing thats started but, i feel its the Redemption journey that has actually started for him unknowingly. He is already realising that things are not going according to what he thought. Which was, he would get married to her, nobody including mehak would be able to do anything about it and they would all accept it aur woh us se pyaar karwalega. None of thats happening. He has a lot of people against this relationship already. He can see that Mehak herself isn't responding to him and he can sense the distance. I feel Khudrath is already taking badla from him. His days are gone. Usko jitna milna tha mil chuka hai. Now he will only face the harsh realities one after the other. And realise that he can't even protect Mehak nor give her a life with any of the basics.
Mehak's pighalna nai pighalna is still a big question mark. Even if she does i feel, it will be very vague and twisted and not very clear cut. Or she realises it too late or Shamhser learns about it only in his last moments or worse, wont even know about it. Upcoming plot i dont think is just gonna be as direct as her falling for him and them against the world. Even if that happens, it will be very twisted.
So yes, the upcoming from here is what im excited about the most in this whole drama. Shamsher's redemption, Shamsher and Mehak's equation and the one on one between baba saab and Shamsher. But Radain and Bhatti par koi bharosa nahi. In dono ne itne bhand maare hai na, ki i know they will it F it up in these three tracks as well which is actually the actual gist/climax/hype of the show. 🤡🤢.. also, isn't KTK supposed to just have a lil over 25 episodes.. im kinda mad that 17 epsiodes are already down, and we have have less than 10 episodes to go.. with a few fillers on the way and the three major tracks are yet to even begin.. god damn.. it does seem like the story will revolve around another 4 or 5 episodes in Dilawar mansion, before they are thrown out or decide to leave it.. i wanted to watch more of the latter stuff than what has actually passed so far in the story.. makes me mad! Damn! 😡
Also, i highly doubt if he will be redeemed completely. It seems like he will continue to have anger issues and show irrational behaviour throughout till the end even during his redemption phase. And that comes across a lot more believeable and realistic.
You know the funny part is while the team has made it very clear Shamsher is grey, people just don't want to believe ki uska glorification nahi ho raha hai 
Matlab hadh hai yaar, except Mehak ki mummy ka faltu dialogue there has been no glorification at all.
Idk what they want.
Not focussing on the episode count coz I have a feeling the numbers increased on the edit table. Looking at the pace and storyline...I doubt they would rush to end it. Because the build up is pretty solid. And if it were only 25 episodes we wouldn't have so much crap up till episode 15 or so.
