I am from Mumbai so I can tell you this accent starts from Juhu onwards to South Bombay (ie the original Mumbai u see in older black and white films) but now the suburbs have started copying it too. Still its not as bad where I live because while people are wealthy, there is a mix of different backgrounds and parents/grandparents work on preserving their og culture and regional languages ❤️

The "burger" Urdu is actually better sounding than SoBo Hindi. Because the only difference is they have a slight accent and struggle with a few words.

But then again...Urdu isn't native to Pakistan, so no matter where they are from, unless the actor works very hard on the language there will be a twang of Punjabi/Sindhi accent in there. Kind of like if a Gujarati from Gujarat who hasn't had any cosmo exposure will speak Hindi with a heavy Gujarati accent.

thanks for the explanation; I don't really watch too many hindi movies and especially the new bollywood stars. they only have papa power but no real acting chops. that said, I am kind of surprised at how they end up surviving. fluency in your local language (at least speaking) is a definite must especially if you have entertainment dreams. you would think the parents would be smart enough to get them language teachers to really brush up their skills.

Well Shamsher is a bigda hua bachha. Maa-baap dono ka favourite. Where as Dara is the mature, understanding older brother. Thats it. Not much to ponder over, its a story of many households. Lol
