Performance Discussion - Semi Finale (27 & 28 August)

Are some of the costumes repeated today, including Arunita & Sayli?

Im more worried about those that wont be in final. Poor kids they worked hard to get here. Hopefully they can shine continuasly

Could be. In early days of SS2, I thought both sometimes wearing what they wore in II12

I felt little put off how govinda ji didnt let sayesha put sash on him. Oh well

27 Aug 2022. Govinda and Satish Kaushik special.

Aryananda and Samaira. Aryananda was marginally better than usual today. But I still feel this pair is a mismatch. They end up accentuating each other's weaknesses. Interestingly the "avishwasniya" comment from Govinda was shown for this pair even though in the promos it was shown for Pranjal. Who knows when it actually came!

Rituraj. Different genre (Streetdancer) and yet he excelled. I loved his voice modulation! Raja Babu was okay okay. The third one Tumse Milna Baatein Karna was really good!

Rohan and Pratyush. Poor kids clearly had no context of the movies for which Govinda wanted them to say the dialogues 😄. Nothing else to say - nothing extraordinary. It is sad that the semi final is clearly just an eyewash, considering these were quite pedestrian performances.

Sayisha. Mere Pyaar Ka Ras Zara Chakhna, and Husn Hai Suhana. I really liked her, especially in the first song. She was very easily going to pitches higher than her normal that we hear. Even in the second she was modulating her voice well. Possibly because Pawandeep would have been in South Africa during the practice days, this time she was looking only rightwards towards her mom, not at Pawandeep.

Faiz. Dil Jaan Jigar, and Kill Dil. Both were very good, he did really well. Especially in the first one. For the second... Well it is hard to replicate what Sonu Nigam has done. Considering it is so different from his genre he has to be commended for what he achieved here. But one also thinks of how SMP came so close to what Sonu Nigam did!

Mani. TBH I was distracted by something at home, but there was nothing extraordinary to draw me back to the screen. And the initial stuff around his background was a bit too long!

Pranjal. Jaisi Karni Waisi Bharni. Comfort zone. Good performance. I really don't know when and where this song is from. I wonder how they dug up this one! And why! And the "avishwasniya" comment came up again. I wonder if this was one of the editing magics of TCT 😄

But...the guitar! My word! Pranjal playing the guitar with Pawandeep on percussion! Highlight of this episode! As I said earlier, Pawandeep's biggest contribution seems to be that he is inspiring these singing contestants to improve and display their musical instruments skills!

Chetanya and Soyab. Good but nothing that we haven't already seen, I guess.

Moments: Arunita looking leftwards and singing along to the song!

These 2 reduced to paired for duets (like Rohan-pratyush, soyab-chetania)

Paired for weeks and weeks to sideline them to be in bottom for elimination (Despite Rohan better than Pratyush but for some reason Pratyush considered for medal but not Rohan).

red: my opinion. Listened to Mani singing Raju tu... (Once again I thought high pitch was unnecessary). Why judges go ga ga? Why high pitch in every song he sings??

These kids me emotional in the end. That kind of bond and love is precious. I will miss all of them.

I feel bad for the 5 kids who are not a part of the finale but I am happy Sony has gone with 6 finalists, 11 finalists doesn't make sense.
