What exactly are celebs supposed to say these days in order to NOT hurt sentiments? I mean, if Kareena is being accused of her success of 22 years being due to her last name and says that it's the audience who made starkids and nobody is being forced so don't watch the movies if you don't want to, sentiments get hurt. Alia and Vijay are asked about boycotts and they say, don't watch if you don't want to, sentiments are hurt.

I think people just want celebs to beg and plead. I'm not sure what they want

They can't do right anyway at all. Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

I think these same people calling for alsorts of boycotts would wither away if these same stars withdrew themselves from social media or public appearances.

Sidhi baat no bokwaas. Being a talented and top actress, she has earned right to say make that kind of statement.

They shouldn’t say anything. If asked they should find a way to dodge the question. Or give some generic “I understand, I’m hoping to prove my worth” type answers. They live the life of luxury where they get paid an insane amount of money for a few months worth of work. They should learn to appreciate how incredibly lucky they are and just keep it 🤐. It’s the least they can do.

This specific sentence, if you don’t like me don’t watch me, has a very aggressive undertone to it. It’s basically telling the audience F you if you don’t like me.

She is not wrong.

Honestly it is audience that makes stars what they are. Stars do not force you to see their films or ads or T.V. shows.

If you do not like them then do not watch them. Simple.

Why watch them yet also keep ranting against them or threaten boycotts or question their success?

Why you behave like you did a favour by seeing someone's film?

I know her statement will be used against Brahmastra but that boycott gang was already against the film. So it does not matter.

I think Bollywood should take a stand and not cow down.

What does troll gang expect? Stars should apologise to them for merely existing?

Alia has not even spoken on religious or political issues that she is targeted. Yes she is privileged nepo kid who gets too much on a platter but beyond that there is no other reason to pile hate on her.

Agreed on 2. and 3., but I would change 1. Nepo princess wants you to think she's oh-so edgy and clever. Spoiler alert: she's neither.

the money they make the endorsements are also because they build themselves up as a brand, she benifitted from the kjo brand and now is facing the flip side

but i still say given this, best is to lie low, the pr articles being put out, iam the only only non flop star, iam amitabh, streep and pushpa all rolled into one are most untimely

I completely agree but how is she supposed to do Brahmastra promos? Alia has had more success than Ranbir as of late so she needs to be out there. PR is always there for promos. Granted the movie will tank anyway but whatever.

The thing is - when is your worth proven? I actually think very few actors/actresses, male or female have a role where they are so good they are immune from most criticism.
