Sai - Vinu meet
Village camp for school kids where Sai and Vinu are present.
In one of the tents, Sai is taking basic vitals of all the kids who have arrived at the camp.
She sees a bespectacled boy observing her intently.
Sai passes a smile at him and he reciprocates.
Sai notices he is in crutches and so she gets up from her seat and goes to him.
Supports him to stand up while noting his weight and height.
When it is time to note the information, she smiles at him again and asks,
"Kya naam hai aapka beta?"
"Vinayak"
Sai is startled for a moment and dropping her pen, peers at him.
Vinayak smiles and Sai proceeds to note the information.
"Aap itne dhyan se kya dekh rahe the?"
"Aapka batau?"
"Haan .. agar aapki iccha hai to?"
"Main na... aapke jaise hi Doctor banna chahta hun... par pata nahi ban paunga ya nahi!" Vinayak replies a bit morosely.
"Aisa kyun keh rahe hai aap? Agar hum chahe to kuch bhi kar sakte hai!!"
"Haan lekin mere legs main problem hai na... Phir main operation kaise karunga?"
Sai chuckles at his innocence.
"Dekho.. aisa nahi hai ki saare Doctors operation karte hai... baki bhi bahot saare kaam hote hai. You can still be a doctor. And just because hamare pass kuch chij nahi hai ya kam hai iska matlab ye thodi hai ki hum kabhi aisi chije kar hi nahi payenge. Aapko pata hai, physically handicapped log bhi Mount Everest chadh chuke hai."
Vinayak's eyes widen in wonder and he smiles genuinely and happily. A sudden new vigour and excitement is building in him.
Sai ruffles his hair and helps him out of the chair.
"Thank you Doctor Sai"
"Thank you to you too Vinu!!"
Sai then realises what she said.
She sheepishly looks at him to see if he is offended.
But Vinayak is looking at her with a brilliant smile.
He waves her and walks off leaving Sai in an inexplicable joy.
Later at night, Vinayak is talking to V on the phone.
"Baba... aapko pata hai physically handicapped log bhi Mount Everest chadh chuke hai!!"
"Haan mujhe to pata hai ... lekin tumhe kisne bataya?"
"Yahan camp main ek doctor hai... bahot acchhi hai... maine unhe bataya ki mujhe bhi unke jaise banna hai, Doctor"
"Oh.. to phir vo kya boli?"
"Unhone kaha ki hum chahe to kuch bhi kar sakte hai"
"Thats great... lagta hai tumhe bahot pasand aa gai hai... phir to mujhe bhi unse milna padega"
"Haan Baba... she is very sweet. Aapko acchhi lagengi"
"Kya naam hai unka?"
"Sai"
V assumes he misheard and Vinayak said Aai.
"Aise kisi ko bhi Aai nahi bulaate"
"Aai nahi baba... Sai"
V is stunned, he asks Vinayak to repeat again. He does and feeling a sense of unexplained anxiety, V tries to end the call.
"Good night Vinu"
"Good night Baba"
"Aaj tumne mujhe toka nahi Vinu bolne se?"
"Haan vo aaj Dr. Sai ne bhi mujhe Vinu bola... aur pata hai Baba... ab mujhe Vinu hi acchha lag raha hai"
