And yes, Basit's attitude towards Soha where every moment of their interaction was him faking things, there he had been nicer. Even when he gets really angry and upset that Soha wants to go away for 6 months and is not ready for a quick marriage, you know he is seething within, but all he does is smile and sit back. The good thing is he never feels the need to pretend with Ayesha. So whatever he does, you know he is being genuine. The bad thing is the complacency you wrote of. But the last episode has shaken him up. He has realised he needs to take some initiative to make Ayesha feel at home in his house, to make her become the wife he wants her to be.

He had perhaps imagined they would continue behaving with each other as they had before marriage at the company when she was his employee with her following all his orders calmly and to the T. But over the last two episodes you see he is realising that his behaviour needs to change. Ayesha needs something from him though he still does not understand what it is that she wants. But one thing is clear, it bothers him when she cries. Seriously! The chemistry as you said, is crackling indeed!

That's interesting..I didn't think of it..he was diff with soha for some reason..playing the cool dude , the eligible bachelor ..although he was getting the red flags that he and soha are not compatible , he was still ready to compromise ..that time the execution of will was imp ...I think he told fahad ke shadi hi toh karni hai , kisi se bhi sahi. He knew he wouldn't be happy post marriage anyways , so how does it matter who the girl is.

He very much listens to fahad. He shared everything with fahad abt soha but since fahad was pushing him , he kept doing it..fahad only suggested to him that he should find a helpless poor girl who can't say no to marry him . Between him and ayesha , he isn't taking fahads suggestions , so that's good right ?

May be they want to show how the high society marriages are..the girl has her own life (which soha also demanded ), the boy has his ..this is how basit would be with soha as he doesn't know better but soha would be more aggressive and probably dump him any minute .

I completely agree with you on this. Ayesha doesn’t seem like someone who would enjoy sitting at home. Sadia does look like a working woman. But we mostly see her at home, which makes one question if perhaps she used to work where she lived before she came to live with Basit.

Anyway if she does work here, she could offer for Ayesha to join her. I absolutely love their relationship, so understanding and mutually supportive. However, Basit may not be very happy with this. I think he’s unaware of the close relationship between his mother and wife but he seemed annoyed at the breakfast table where he taunted her by saying that you’re making her exactly like you. I think as Basit’s awareness and feelings for Ayesha would grow, so would his possessiveness. He wouldn’t want her to be around his mother all the time, the one person who represents everything he detests in a woman. Soha showed traits of what his mother may have been like in her younger days, which is he never warmed up to Soha.

I don’t know what do you guys think?

As I wrote a few weeks earlier in this thread, the problem was never with Soha. The problem lies in Basit. These days apart from in very conservative families, don't wives have their own lives beyond the kitchen and home too? He did not like Soha on their very first one-on-one meeting when she hugged that friend of hers. Fahad was right when he told Basit to not overthink things. That is how people interacted with friends. But Basit has his issues regarding women and he has been heard painting the whole of womankind with the same brush...that they abandon their families for their own selfish desires and wishes, etc. It is a very exaggerated sort of view that has come out of his childhood sorrow but he has now made it into a part of his personality, how he sees women. Unlike other tv drama heroes, he never showed it by badmouthing all his female acquaintances. With him it is more subtle and lies in his decision to never allow a woman into his life again, to never give a woman that much power over him that he might be hurt by her.

Fahad was counselling him to settle with Soha since that was a rishta that was on the table for Basit and due to the will, he really needed to marry quickly. And Basit had put aside all his reservations simply because of the constraints placed on him by the will. We see him time and time again hold back from calling Soha until he gets another wake-up call that the company might crash due to the cash flow crunch. But Soha was not helpless like Ayesha. She had interpreted Basit's approaching her not as a thing he was forced to do (Basit in fact had lied to her saying he never did anything that was forced on him...bruhhh!) but rather had imagined Basit was interested in her. Her decision to wait for 6 months for the course to complete was a perfectly sound one. She was right, they barely knew each other! But because Soha expressed her wishes, desires so freely, Basit had seen in her the image of Sadia, the woman who had abandoned him to fulfill her desires. Because Ayesha was subordinate to him in the company and did not voice her wishes openly, Basit had imagined that she had none. Basit has to learn that a woman is also human, capable of having desires, the wish for a life of her own instead of just being a satellite to him. If he truly respects and loves Ayesha one day, he would support her in achieving her dreams. We have not forgotten the girl who had been the topper in her class, whose medal had been sold by her mother to bring money into the family.

Fahad is a positive influence on Basit. He gives him good advice, calls him out on his weaknesses and scolds him from time to time when we know it is needed. But yes, a friend can only support so much and no further. As Fahad had said, taking care of his relationship with Ayesha was Basit's duty. Basit has to understand what is lacking in him and his attitude towards Ayesha on his own.

You’re absolutely right. Keeping aside my general indifference to her character, don’t know why but she seemed more pretentious than anything; I don’t think she was wrong to demand more time from Basit. He was not honest with her in the first place about his rush to get married, so she naturally assumed that he liked her. From Basit’s perspective, it is clear that he has anxiety and anybody with anxiety can vouch that a simple change in decisions or circumstances with such a person could render them feeling helpless, angry or even hurt, which reinforces their anxiety. Soha could never imagine that Basit (who seems so confident and successful) has anxiety and abandonment issues, which is why when he asked Soha, how could you suddenly spring this on me, she took it lightly.

Coming to Ayesha, I think Basit grossly underestimated her. While she may have been his subordinate in office, it is not the same in a marriage where she is his equal. I like how Ayesha takes a stand whenever she feels that Basit is in the wrong. But I would have liked for Ayesha to have her own life. Maybe have one or two good friends whom she confides in. There is nothing wrong in having a good male friend and hugging him from time to time. If this is Basit’s journey to healing then he needs to accept this as well as the fact that not everyone is out there to abandon him. I would really like to see this happen gradually.

Do you think we would ever get to see Basit jealous in a healthy way? If yes, then in what way? Would love for everyone to pitch in ideas.

Perhaps the only thing that Soha did wrong (when Basit walked away from the restaurant) is that she did not introduce her friend to Basit and vice versa. This could have helped him feel reassured that he’s relevant in her life.

Anyway I would like to see Ayesha have a male friend but balance out how she treats Basit and the friend together, this could be a good learning curve for them both.

hahah!!! So true about the pretentious bit! Especially, when she tells her dad to invest in bitcoin and I am thinking, girl you are making a BAD investment! 😆 There was really nothing between the two of them. Soha found him intriguing, maybe partly because of all the praise she had heard of Basit from her father. Basit felt nothing for Soha and was only going through the paces for the sake of the will. Had they gotten married his feelings for her might have grown. But there was more intensity in that moment when Basit is having the onset of a panic attack and Ayesha walks into his office for the P.A. interview than through all the various meetings of Soha and Basit. Btw I did like that scene when Soha calls Basit on stage. They looked good there though again the two were on different pages.

I love what you write about Ayesha...Truly both Bano and Ayesha seem to have sacrificed even their social lives for the sake of the family. I would like to interpret the hall of girls applauding for Ayesha in the very first scene of the show as meaning she was loved by her classfellows. Bano's office colleague who comes with Talal's wedding card also seems genuinely a wellwisher for Bano. So these girls are liked wherever they go. But their family keeps letting them down and demanding far too much from them. Bano losing her love and Ayesha's marriage... both things which have made the girls unhappy in different ways, was something their family did to them.

haha..Basit would be a very unstable partner if he gets jealous at present. But maybe there will be something like that in the future. There is one clip in the new ost video that gave me the vibe when Qudsia is shown begging with hands folded while Basit looks at her with a very steely expression on his face. Is that because Basit has sent Ayesha home because of something he suspects...

Oh yes, I was talking about jealousy later on. Basit if he gets jealous right now would probably end up hating Ayesha. But he would have to inevitably learn to tackle the emotion in a healthier way.

The scene with Ayesha’s mother folding hands and then Basit’s expressions was scary. It can be either of the two things- a. Ayesha has done something and Basit has sent her back (hard to imagine this what with his abandonment issues). I think Basit would prefer that they fight at home where she is in the same space as him rather than go somewhere else. I mean he got restless in a few hours, can’t imagine him willingly letting her go back especially once their relationship develops).

Or maybe Ayesha gets to know about the 75 lakhs and leaves Basit (and maybe her family, considering that she knows her mother will send her back). Maybe Basit is pissed because of Ayesha leaving him or maybe not being able to find her.

The Ost looks very angsty. There is one scene where Ayesha is trying to hold Basit’s hand and he shakes her hand off. What do you think that should be about?

@bold - i think we should get it ..... Coz jealousy is an integral part of love ....

May be with any of Ayesha's cousin . I know he doesn't exist at the point of time . But who knows? Like - Basit comes from office only to see Ayesha laughing merrily with an unknown man( her cousin ) and getting all fired up 😎

Or ,

It can be with Fahad himself . Coz , clearly he shares a great repo with Ayesha . And what is best is that , Fahad being his friend - Basit can't even scold him😈🤪

Provided the ost clips are not showing dream sequences (like the divorce paper shocker they had given us in the teaser trailer before the show started airing), the scene where the two sit together looking up at the sky, Basit truly looks like he has found peace. So let us hope that he will find a way to put an end to his insecurities.

I think you are right about Basit not being the one to send Ayesha home. He really does look for her whenever he is at home. His eyes following Ayesha's movements is such a pleasure to watch.

But yes, coming back to that Qudsia scene, could it be that after making Basit promise to not tell Ayesha about the 75 lakhs, Qudia herself had told Ayesha about it? He looks really angry and cold in that clip.

As for the scene where he shakes Ayesha's hand off.... And this is just me playing jigsaw puzzles with the clips, I think that shaking off the hand comes after the scene when Basit is coldly looking at Ayesha in their driveway. They seem to have some kind of major argument and he is shown to be dragging Ayesha by the hand away from somewhere and finally Ayesha is seen weeping as she walks on the road. God only (ok also the Habs team) knows what happens there but these scenes seem to be connected as they are wearing the same clothes. Could it be that Ayesha was meeting some people, Basit doesn't like that, drags her away. Then she walks out of the house weeping? Aaaargh!!! This wait!!!

I really want it to be Fahad!! I want Basit to see her laugh at something Fahad says because he has never made her laugh! 😳 And please may the meet between Fahad and Ayesha be related to Bano (that ship I want to set afloat ☺️)
