OK.
This is Filmfare awards. They don’t always go by who had the best performance. A movie’s popularity makes a difference as well and Shershah became very popular. It may not be fair but that’s how they’ve always done it. And Shershah wasn’t just a massively popular movie. It was a very well made film that audiences and critics alike loved. Not to mention all the praise it received from the military. Also due to Veshnu Vardhan a lot of South celebrities praised it as well. Still, it is highly highly unlikely that Vicky will walk out empty handed. And it is also highly unlikely that Sid will walk out empty handed.
Sardar Udham was the more acclaimed movie. Shershah everyone agreed was a good movie. Sardar Udham came closer to being an oscar nominee. And made many rankings as one of the best films made. But this isn't about the film. This is about acting. Even if you make the argument that the films are at par which they aren't. Sid's performance cant touch Vicky's. Sid did go empty handed from Iffa I believe. Another major award ceremony. My fear is Dharma has more influence over Filmfare. It is why Alia was able to win for her 15-minute role in Gully Boy.
