But Prats aka BlackWitch decided to no longer be part of the FFDT Beta Reading team due to her own personal reasons.

We are going to miss you Prats!

What can I say? It hasn’t been very long since I’ve known you but it feels like years. And I say this because in all my 10 -11 years of being on this site I have never met someone so sincerely invested in encouraging another writer. I’m used to two line reviews on my stories & generic ones like ‘great work, can’t wait to read more’. I cannot tell you how much it meant to have you analyze & dissect my stories & tell me exactly what appealed to you & what I should be working more on. It has helped me immensely in polishing up my work & believing more in my abilities.

I’m reproducing here what I wrote about you in my feedback.

“Brilliant writer, smart, creative in the way she uses her words, her edits are very meaningful & precise, she is very aware about how a piece of writing could be received with readers and keeps that in mind while giving feedback, a keen eye for detail, picks out on things the author may have missed out on & is extremely generous, specific & encouraging with her feedback, always keeping the effort of the writer in mind. I feel extremely lucky to have her as part of our team!

I was really disheartened when you broke the news about quitting. I am so glad I got to know you and work with you. Dear Prats,

I was very sad and shocked when you told us that you had decided to quit the team. We had joined the team together and since then I have had ample opportunities to know you, to work with you, to read your stories, to share ideas, to collaborate, or just be crazy. Incidentally, our first collaboration was also together, for a Featured Fiction Thread.

You are a fantastic writer, Prats, and a compassionate person. I saw you cheer for the writers that you beta read. One could tell how sincerely you assessed each story. I really enjoyed collaborating with you before you left, and I am just glad we met and shared this journey.

I’ll miss you, and it is sad that the team has to let you go.

It sucks that readers don’t pause and write lengthy words of love to your stories. Kaun hain yeh lazy log? Kidhar se aate hai? 😠

When I read your Lagaan story, I found that you have an incredibly special flair for writing that few people possess. Fir I facepalmed when you told me that you hold yourself back due to this site ke rules. I couldn’t believe ki koi aisa dedicatedly rule follow karta hai kyunki I had been breaking them for years 🤣

Imagine my surprise when you took my suggestion to heart and blossomed into this gorgeous writer who wrote such swoon worthy pieces May nothing hold you back from expressing and writing your stories exactly as you want to.

Also, YOU are the one all the beta readers look upto. The sheer amount of effort you put into your beta reading, I don’t think I ever had that kind of patience. You’d turn a regular story into one with so much depth and poetry. Did that story deserve that magical touch? Maybe, maybe not, but that writer would definitely have learnt something from your edits. I know I did from working with you.

I feel so blessed to have you as a friend… and a future beta reader for my stories 🤣 I love you 😘

@ Koeli - Yaar, I miss your voice notes 😭 Kab bhejegi? When I first heard your voice, I was like “yeh toh duniya ka sabse chirpy baccha hai” 🤭 I refuse to believe that you are older than me. Your voice has that youthful, melodious quality and the way you express, even the most frustrating things, makes me chuckle. That reminds me - I am gonna call you tomorrow for a gossip session 🤣

And yes, I am really happy that we became friends. I have been seeing you around as a moderator for years. Kabhi socha nahi tha that this girl would be one of the sweetest ones in my life. You are so real as a person with a pure heart. Aise Bahot kam log hote hain duniya mein.

Shiri, you are so hardworking and itna talented. I feel that in my journey towards working on a book, you have also played a part. Seeing you put yourself out there unabashedly, and taking feedback on the chin is very inspiring for me.

Despite your crazy schedule, you stepped up to help me when I was going crazy trying to make threads look pretty. Fir tumhara ek tag and siggy would lift up the whole vibe of the thread 😆 I remember loving your work from that cover you made of The Seer’s Revenge. I know it was controversial kyunki I asked for so many changes, but tumne already itna accha banaya tha that the perfectionist in me wanted to reach that 99% se 100% 🤣

@ Rash - Tum gayab rahogi toh shock toh lagega na? 🤣 Jokes aside, I know zyada goodbye vagera ke liye nahi ruki main. I find it really hard to say goodbyes and prefer to leave things a little unfinished, so that dobara ki ummeed bani rahe 🥺

Waise tumne meri zyada hi taareef kar di. Itna saara kaam bhi nahi karti thi main 🤭 But you have always been a rock; someone all of us could count on for anything. Agar pyaar se koi bahot boring kaam karna ho toh right attitude ke liye tumko follow karna chahiye 😆
