Bhagyas ka initial plot kuch or hi ta … ab kuch or hi bn gya h … Kumkum bhagyas started as two sisters story .. it was loosely based on sense and sensibility… elder sister Pragya was simple and practical and younger Bulbul was naughty and die hard romantic… Bulbul fell in love with a guy Purab who was ML Abhi’s friend and his sister Alia’s romantic interest… ML has a misunderstanding that its the elder sister who loves his friend… for his sister he made situation such that elder sister has to marry him …just to break them and get Alia married to Purab …ML already has a girlfriend Tanu and was set to marry her but postponed that plan …
Elder sis also kept quiet for her sister’s sake … and got married… it was a contract marriage .. later Purab rebelled and married Bulbul leaving Alia at altar … by that time Abhi has fallen for Pragya and not interested in his gf but before he could confess, gf claimed that she is pregnant with his child so he has to marry her and that’s how the story progressed … how they confess their feelings for each other and turns out that gf was pregnant with someone else’s child.. she even got miscarriage .. uske bad they changed the story for so many leaps and separation and it become quite a leap bhagya … I have written a lot about it … its all
pregnancy-misunderstanding- separation-leap-patch up- re marriage and the cycle repeats. the only USP of the show that four leads Shabbir, sriti, Mrunal, Arijit got famous overnight so much that Ekta kapoor have to drop Mrunal and Arijit to avoid overshadowing the lead pair …
Kundali Bhagya was also a spin-off of Kumkum Bhagya .. Pragya and Bulbul have two more sisters who are living with their father separately…Preeta elder sis like Pragya but a more meek version of her … Srishti who is a louder version of Bulbul (now dead) … after their father’s death they come to mumbai and meet Luthra brothers … Rishabh the elder brother immediately took a liking for Preeta .. but younger brother Karan and Preeta are at loggerheads due to circumstances… they fight on every occasion and somehow the Meek preeta arora turns fiesty only when she is around or with Karan … Rishabh wasn’t able to confess his feelings for Preeta and got engaged to Sherlyn… Preeta got to know Sherlyn’s truth and with Karan tried exposing her unsuccessfully so many times … they fell in love in the process but both are unaware of their feelings… and when Rishabh got married to sherlyn even after all efforts… Karan in a fit of anger trespasses Preeta’s wedding and got married to her in disguise .. claimed in front of everyone that he loved her and left her on road after vidai … basically this story is of two brothers falling in love with the same girl but they changed the plot and dropped the brother angle when karan(Dheeraj) and Preeta (Shraddha) became hugely popular .. now when show is on decline they introduced it again… so you see history repeated with Kundali Bhagya… in terms of popularity Kundali surpassed Kumkum and broke all records in first week itself …
ab in dono shows ki story kachra ho gyi h … as original plot is forgotten… and they are just drag fest with sautan drama and 1 month long parties with no conclusion…. and lots of dream sequences within same party …
Bhagya Lakshmi although less popular but still popular is following the footsteps of these two …
the first two shows has seen trp of 4 and 3 also in pre covid era and post covid Kundali was still fetching 3 while Kumkum was stuck at 1.3- 1.8 …
suddenly in kumkum they dropped original leads and took a gamble thinking they will wrap up the story if trp fell further but out of the blue trp jumped back to 2 to 2.3 and its still running so they are dragging with no story… kyuki chl jayega ye to socha hi ni ta na …
Kundali saw a decline steadily and now stuck at 1.8-2 … but isse niche ni jata .. to they are ok with it.. plus zee don’t have good shows …
sorry for long post but crux is even bhagyas has a good story to begin with but butchered later on due to popularity…
Meet is neither that popular nor a bhagya show .. so changing story won’t help here …
From what I gather here is bhagya story started with something between the leads and their link ups and third angles and still continues with it in cycles. But Meet was not like that... its changing story and becoming utter crap now and it is not going to work for them like how the kachra works for the bhagyas.
@bold: yeah... we are both saying the same thing. So thats why I feel even if the same crap gives bhagyas trp, it wont give Meet trp.
Waise shadi abhi hui nahi and bachha abhi mara nahi...hai na? So I dont know what will be the state of affairs next week but shadi agar ho gayi and bachha bhi mar gaya then trp will drop and then they will do some twist again for trp... but then I dont want to see them gaining back trp again....
