I had this in my mind for a long time when the whole ruckus was going on, I didn't want to be a part of that discussion so I stayed away from it, now that surrogacy has come to an end

I wonder, why everything wrong with Pakhi being surrogate was presented but they are still talking about Geeta as if Geeta being surrogate is right

Thanks for the information @Nutmeg

The following Act of Parliament received the assent of the President on the 25th December, 2021 and is hereby published for general information:—

This does not mention that surrogate has to be a close relative

I never knew about this rule until you told me . In that case Geeta would have been an illegal surrogate too . The makers turned this show into a torture chamber , breaking all laws and spreading false information about a sensitive issue like surrogacy . Shame on them . 🤢 ….

Yep. It was debated in the Parliament and later scrapped. Only commercial surrogacy is banned in India. *Altruistic surrogacy is allowed.

*Altruistic surrogacy involves no monetary compensation to the surrogate mother other than the medical expenses and insurance coverage during the pregnancy.

I have added the latest December 2021 PDF. It was signed by the President. Genuinely asking, if you can find a point, let me know. I couldn't
