Laal Singh Chaddha has seen a pretty good advance in the context of business today as it may have the best advance post the pandemic for original Hindi content. At the moment it is 83 which holds that title mainly because it was a Christmas release and a had a good contribution from high end multiplexes.

There was no release on the Republic week period and the Eid releases were not the huge budget films and Laal Singh Chaddha is that first big event film this year on a big holiday. Last year there were two with Sooryavanshi and 83 and the former did not open advance till very close to release.

The advance of Laal Singh Chaddha is very similar to 83 not just in the numbers but also where the advance is coming from but hopefully the film is far better with a wider reach and it should be as the trailer was better in that the film can relate with the audience and there is Aamir Khan who has a great track record.

Laal Singh Chaddha should get an advance of 8 crore nett plus and maybe it even becomes the first original Hindi film to cross 10 crore nett but the issue is the huge expectations of the film and though things have changed drastically at the box office post pandemic much of the industry will not see this as much of an advance due to these expectations which are probbaly not correct anyway as these type of films are bigger within the industry rather than with the masses where its more about the reports.The film is a very Punjabi film but the advance in the major cities of Punjab is lacklustre with Delhi NCR showing far better advances.

Raksha Bandhan has had a low advance and is probably heading for that 3 crore nett mark pre release but if we take out Mumbai and South and other high end multiplexes then the gap between this film and Laal Singh Chaddha is not that much. The advance of this film will be better than films like Bachchhan Pandey and Samrat Prithviraj even though it has less initial value than those films but the holiday period is probably helping.

The advance of the film is generally lower than Laal Singh Chaddha but in many circuits its just the few bigger multiplexes making the difference and it could be that this film gives Laal Singh Chaddha a fight in current in many circuits. The best performing markets for business today like UP and Gujarat can do well depending on the reports and if that happens it will be very interesting week at the box office.

Dunno abt lifetime but a Khan is again guaranteeing an opening 👏

Amir always puts in alot of effort and dedication in his films so really hope it works!

LSC marketing has been poor.

Poor marketing will cost atleast 3-4 crs from opening. If they had an album as good as this , it should've been promoted mote with video songs.

But weren't you attributing the failure of khans to 80% Hindu majority population. Yet advanced booking China ki Hai, Pakistan ki ya turkey ki? Ya phir Muslim population achanak se it is badh gayi ke khan ke aage kisi ka koi chance hi nahi banta nazar aa raha? Ya phir amir ne Hinduism apparently liya?
