It's so normal for a mother to fall asleep while feeding, it's tiring, exhausting with all the sudden change and physical changes after a delivery. Having a newborn in the house is literally a world changed in a day.

Can't count how many days I've fell asleep while feeding although I know I shouldn't.

I totally understand both your brother and SIL. If a couple can stand through loss of a child, let me tell you their bond will be stronger than ever. Bless them both
