I think it makes sense for her to have difficulties in getting by. But yeh important baat hai ki she never asked Aryan for money, nor did she DEFAME him anywhere while she could have. They want to establish the fact that Aryan is able to connect with Cheeni only and only bcz her pain, her struggles are exactly what Imlie has gone through, ab isse 2 cheeze ho gai
1. Aryan has always been the one to take care of every insecurity of Imlie showing the same insecurities through Cheeni and Aryan remembering Imlie through them makes u able to connect as to what is driving him to help a child he has met barely few hours back when he is a no nonsense person why would he indulge himself so much into helping a girl which has no relation to him.
2. It is to show Aryan the last 5 yrs of Imlie's life as a live example since he was not physically present to witness all this, for him to shot down these social evils and cure Imlie-Cheeni of this stigma he has to see it happening inront of his eyes that too connecting it with a person who matters to him a little bit, if they used Imlie to show these parallels again so Aryan wouldn't know that she has been a victim to these since the last 5yrs which they want to show with the progress of the story warna agar the villagers were doing this to Imlie today their faceoff ka jo buildup hai that would have gone down the drain and instead we would be seeing Aryan shutting the villagers and taking stand for Imlie
But, they have to build that tashan wala plot between them for Imlie's self confidence to strike back nhi toh she will be dependent on Aryan again ki now that he is here he will take care of all her troubles and she won't have to fight for herself

@bold: Sooner or Later they have to be in danger, so that both Imlie and Aryan jump in to save them. Because neither will let Cheeni or Meethi get hurt nor they can bear one of getting hurt while the other do nothing
It's a good plot to bring them to work together to protect their loved ones.

Exactly.. there is connection between malini's call to that guy and Cheeni's sudden disappearance.. khud nahi gae she was standing right there during shopkeeper and aru's conversation and next moment she was gone.. kuch to gadbad hoe hai
