Anjaam was a straight flop

and you will be surprised that Ek Ladka ek ladki was not just a flop, but was a disaster at boxoffice, I still don't know why. 1992 was the worst year of Salman's career ever.

I can understand that very badly & poorly directed films of Salman like JAAGRUTI and NISHCHAY got disaster status rightly in year 1992, but I still cannot comprehend why Ek ladka ek ladki was a disaster as well...especially when Salman was coming fresh from 4 back to back successful films in 1991 (sanam bewafa, patthar ke phool kurbaan and Saajan) ...year 1991 and the following year 1992 were REALLY EXTREMELY POLARIZING years in Salman's career so far.
