So i have been watching WTHA on and off.
And on paper there are lots of similarities.
FL there loved MLs brother but he dies and due to circumstances they are forced into a marriage of convenience despite having a Tom/Jerry relationship before the marriage
Some members of the ML family- mainly MIL is majorly against FL
ML has a past with a BFF/potential lover/almost wife character as well. This is WAY more fleshed out than the 2 day infatuation of Virat
But the treatment of ML is SO starkly different than V
First, ML in this show is VERY clear about boundaries with friend who makes passes at him. Once he is married no matter what the circumstances, he has made his stance clear.
He goes above and beyond to make his wife feel comfortable
Deliberately takes her to a party, makes her part of the event and does not allow the bff to act as anything more than a business partner and friend.
He clearly tells his bff/ex to stay in her limits
Current track shows him ready to confess feelings but FL leaving because she feels guilty
ML has threatened bff/ex to break all ties with her if she crosses her limits when he figures out that she tried to deliberately malign FL
ML ki bff/ex attempts suicide and he is forced to bring her home but he makes sure that he informs his wife first.
And ML is shown clearly spelling out to her that he does NOT appreciate her interference, her presence in their room, using his wife's belongings etc even in the aftermath of this friend attempting suicide and being "weak emotionally" . Even then he doesnt hold back from serving her a reality check although he does so gently.
He sees his wife's insecurities and is so patient and understanding about it.
He confesses his feeling even when it is not reciprocated with no pressure on her to feel the same way. No passive aggressive crap when FL claims to not love him back.
but our ML wanted his ex to "guide" and "mentor" his wife caring 2 hoots about the inappropriateness
Pretended to NOT see the inappropriateness of PPs behavior from get go giving her free pass into his life.
and the only time Our ghkkpm ML used to show flashes of perceptive and sensitive behavior was always in the aftermath of MAJOR KAANDS- mainly during the post devkit kaand ousting when he essentially told PP to stay out of his life and respect his boundaries but after that everything has been mixed signals. Similarly he told her off in no uncertain terms when he figure out her deliberate move to bring Ajinkya between him and Sai. But thats it- after that back to mixed signals. In the pool scene of Harinee birthday also he was clear to pp but he did not see Sai's POV.
And now, after all this time when his ex/former bff has pulled like 50,000 stunts to malign his wife, he still tells off Sai and not PP.
I dunno what will happen on WTHA show and how long it will be before it becomes crappy like most other ITV shows but as of now I cannot help but compare the behavior of MLs- one is sensitive, perceptive, clear . He doesnt disrespect the friend/obsessive lover but he is super duper clear to her to stay in her limits and not just in private but also in public. His words to her are so measured and appropriate. He doesnt deny the past, but he is SO clear on where he stands. He is so honest. Never denies anything.
But we have V who lived in denial and acted as if Sia was imagining things, then now after all the truth is in the open. he still just does NOT see the obvious and instead of understanding Sai's insecurities, valid fears, concerns, arguments and seeing the obvious, he deliberately ignores her wishes and supports a VILE woman.
Amazing.
Watching WTHA makes me only detest IPS V even more!
