Jokes apart, people are often too quick and eager to write off films. Citizen Kane considered one of the greatest movies of all time was a major flop when it was released. Andaz Apna Apna was a dud when released but became a cult classic. Sholay was panned universally by critics when released and was a disaster for the first few weeks and became a blockbuster slowly over time (WOM wasn't a wildfire back in the day). Sonchiriya was a disaster despite immensely positive WOM. Jennifer's Body was critically and commercially panned at the time of release. But in the past few years, many people have started appreciating the subtle dark humor and messaging in the movie. People have recanted their original assessments and it's becoming a cult classic that was well ahead of its time.

I am not saying Shamshera is a good movie or ahead of its time. It may remain a disaster forever. But the fact is today's disasters could be a hit in another time and place. And plenty of great actors and directors have delivered flops. David Lynch's Dune was atrocious. Nicolas Cage has had so many flops in his career that he's self-deprecating about it.

and i liked Dhakad, kangu was osm as usual.
