It was Ruhaan and Pari's engagement function.But Ruhaan looked gloomy.His parents Tej and Jhanvi noticed it.
Tej:Ruhaan,why are you not looking happy?
Jhanvi:Usually the boy will be very happy during his engagement,But that happiness is not seen on your face.
Ruhaan:Because as you both know,I am not prepared to get married.Because I was waiting to meet my soulmate naturally and I could not find my soulmate yet.
Jhanvi:Don't worry Ruhaan.Love happens after marriage also.Pari is a nice girl.You will love her after marriage.
Ruhaan was silent.Another guy who was near them was looking dull.He was none other than Ruhaan's twin brother Reyaansh.
Reyaansh thought:I had fallen in love with Pari at first sight.But our parents chose you for Ruhaan.
Ruhaan-Pari got engaged by exchanging rings.
Reyaansh faked a smile and said:All the best Ruhaan and Pari.
Suddenly Pari became dull.
Ruhaan noticed it.
Ruhaan:What happened Pari?
Pari:Nothing Ruhaan.
Slowly she smiled.
Pari:Thank you Rey for your wishes.
They smiled.
Pari and Ruhaan met another day.
Ruhaan:Why did you call me Pari?
Pari:Ruhaan,I want to tell you something.You asked me what happened to me when Reyaansh wished us on our engagement day.My smile vanished as I suddenly realized that I was engaged to you which was something which I never wanted,Please don't feel bad.I am marrying you only for my dadi.
I don't believe in love and relationships.
Ruhaan was shocked.
Ruhaan:You and Reyaansh are co-writers of romantic plays.If you don't believe in love,how are you writing romantic plays with Reyaansh?
Pari:I write romantic plays,because audience prefers love stories more.We write according to the wishes of the audience.
Ruhaan was stunned.
Ruhaan:But why you don't believe in love and relationships?
Pari became upset.
Pari:Because my mother loved my dad when he was already married to someone.She was none other than her own best friend.She broke her own best friend's home to get my dad.My dad chose my mother over his loving wife who blindly trusted both of them.God punished both.My dad lost my mother as she was swallowed by cancer.My dad lost his life in a plane crash.Because of their bad affair,I suffered a lot.I was hated by the society except my dadi.
Seeing her tears,Ruhaan cupped her face in his hands.
Ruhaan:Don't cry Pari.
He wiped her tears.
Ruhaan:Just because of one bad affair,you should not think that love is bad.Love is pure.There is true love too.There are many beautiful love stories.
Pari:No,I don't think so.
Ruhaan thought:Pari had a frustrating childhood.Her hatred for love and relationships can lead her into depression also.So I should make her understand the beauty of love.
Ruhaan:No Pari.There are beautiful love stories also.
Pari:How do you know that?Have you ever been in love?
Ruhaan became numb.
Pari:No.Right?Then how are you so sure that love can be beautiful?You are misunderstanding that love is beautiful.
Ruhaan:I am not misunderstanding.Because I was in love.
Pari was stunned.
Pari:Really?
Ruhaan lied:Yes.
Pari:How did your love story start?
Ruhaan thought:Oh my God!What will I say now?
Suddenly he remembered a movie scene.
Ruhaan thought:I will cook up a story taking inspiration from the movie I saw.I hope that she does'nt catch me redhanded.
Ruhaan:I went to a resort.There she....
His imagination...
A girl came running towards Ruhaan and pressed her lips on his cheek.He was shocked.
Slowly he blushed unknowingly.
He came back to senses and stared at her.
Ruhaan:What did you do?I don't even know you.Then why did you kiss me?
She became dull.
She:Sorry.It was a bet.My friends asked me to dare to kiss the first man I see here.Sorry again.Please don't take it seriously.
Ruhaan:Ok.But please don't repeat it.What if the boy falls in love with you in real after getting kissed by you?
She showed him a puppy face:Sorry.
Ruhaan found her face cute,
Ruhaan:Ok ok.
She ran away.
His imagination is over.
Pari giggled.
Pari:The first meeting was so funny.A kiss as a part of the bet.You fell in love with her just because she kissed you?
Ruhaan:No.
Pari:Then?
Ruhaan thought:I have to escape from this situation.
He lied:I will tell you later.I have to go now for a meeting.
Pari:Ok.Anyways the beginning of the love story is interesting.I would love to know more about your love story.Can I meet your ex-girl friend?
Ruhaan was stunned.
Ruhaan:What?Why do you want to meet her?
Pari:Just interested to meet her as she is the heroine of your love story.You are behaving as if you lied that you had a girl friend.
Ruhaan:No,nothing like that.I will bring her to you.
Pari smiled:Thanks.
Ruhaan thought:If I refuse to bring my ex to her,she will understand that I was lying.
Ruhaan told this to Reyaansh.
Reyaansh was stunned.
Reyaansh:Oh no!What did you do Ruhaan?
Ruhaan:Please don't say no.Only you can help your poor brother.Since childhood we have always helped each other.Right?
Reyaansh:Ok.I will help you.You remember our college mate Mishti?
Ruhaan:Yes.She was your best friend in college.
Reyaansh:Exactly.She used to love acting and had participated in college skits.I will request her to act as your ex-girl friend.If she agrees,it will be good for you.Otherwise...
Ruhaan:I hope..Mishti agrees.I am trying to be positive.To be frank, while narrating the fake love story to Pari,unknowingly I imagined Mishti as my ex-girlfriend.I don't know why.Now you suggested Mishti to act as my ex-girlfriend.What a big coincidence!
Reyaansh was surprised.

Mishti was hesitant.
Mishti:It's difficult to act as Ruhaan's girl friend.
Reyaansh:You are scared thinking that you will have to romance him?Then don't worry.Because you are asked to act as ex-girl friend infront of his fiancee,not as his present girl friend.So no chance for romance.So relax.Please help him Mishti.
Mishti:You are my close friend.So I can't refuse it.I will do what you say.

Ruhaan and Pari were sitting at a restaurant.
Pari:Will your ex-girl friend come here?
Ruhaan:Yes sure.She will come.Even after break up,she and I respect each other.We both can't deny each other's wish.Since I called her,she will come here for sure.
Pari smiled.
Mishti entered the restaurant.Ruhaan's face blossomed seeing her.Mishti smiled.
